I got this for a different movie previously. Although, I can't remember if it was a movie Apple was behind or not. Who gives a s**t? Man...
I’m not sure what any of this has to do with the ad. Are you saying Apple “violated your credentials” (not even sure what that means) by putting an ad in the Wallet app?Not minor at all. My financials are currently monitored by two companies, due to my credentials being violated at four other corporations. I am on the third replaced credit card in the last ten years.
I understand you don’t like ads in the Wallet app and I agree with you. I think my level of dislike is just a little lower because I have a different perspective. I don’t think anyone is going to get fired over an annoying ad.Pushing ads on a financial tool or instrument is unacceptable, I have deleted the Wallet app from my iPhone. Apple screwed up on this one; when Cupertino opens this morning, I hope the first thing the C-suite does is to terminate the clown that made the decision to push ads via the Wallet.

Also you deleted the app over an ad and you’re using physical cards that are less secure… Over an ad?
Maybe that’s it. I was just really confused how all that was somehow related to an ad 🤦♂️😂I think they’re being hyperbolic
you know expect google do do something like this but not them.....
This is all pointless theoretical discussion, Apple would never lower iPhone price in exchange for ads. At best they might lube you up nicely so you can do some mental gymnastics about it but you're gonna get fu*ked one way or another. This is the situation where you grow some balls and say not thanks, not even the tip."can I get brand new iPhone 16 Pro Max 512 GB at only $799 directly from Apple, even if that means I will see more ads while using it”.
Exactly this 👆Anyone saying “It didn’t bother me, it’s just one ad” are ignoring the reality that this is a test run. It only gets worse. If you accept one ad, they’ll add two next time. You have to stop it here because you can’t let the company get addicted to using these ads whenever they need a little revenue boost
Just look at Windows. Look at how it started and where it is now
It’s absolutely not OK. I don’t want advertisements for Apple’s products in my operating system eitherHaven’t received this. If it’s a promotion for the Apple Card, I get those from time to time, and that’s probably ok.
If it has nothing to do with the Apple Card - wtf
Edit: from the screenshot in the article it seems to be a promo for Apple Pay - BFD
Yeah it’s all good and dandy but who holds the ruler accountable? Apple certainly won’t hold their own illegal actions accountable, no matter how much wrong the illegal actions are and how many people are negatively impacted by the actions. Apple is their own worst enemy and Apple is very lenient on controlling that for some years now.
Act with your walletIt’s absolutely not OK. I don’t want advertisements for Apple’s products in my operating system either
This reads as: "Things that don't bother me shouldn't bother anyone else. Because only what 'I' find to be important is all that should matter to anyone."This reads as… Some iPhone users are babies and complain about everything.
The Court of Public Opinion will. Hopefully. This stunt is starting to get press. Apple has egg on their faces. This, if nothing else, will force them to rethink shenanigans like this. If their customers keep silent and shrug their shoulders due to the feeling of futility over it all, then there is only one direction this will go.
I still have that notification on my Notification Center, really don't mind this at all.
I agree; Tim Spindler needs to be terminated.Whoever approved this within apple needs to be terminated.
- Apple do not need to do this
- Apple's customers explicitly buy into their platform to avoid this
- Apple's customers will start to leave over this
Apple are a multi-trillion dollar company, they do not need to stoop to this.
When you frame it like this, it’s fine. I suppose it all depends on how you view Apple. If they’re an evil, greedy, monopolistic company of masterminds who don’t care about product and just want money, then this is a horrible thing. If Apple is a impure but still decent company who does still like to make even more money (greedy could still fit) but isn’t out to ruin everything, then this is just a obnoxious way of trying to make some extra money while saving us a bit.I think it's just a reality of business. They are in the entertainment business now. I didn't get the ad, but could see it being an honest, hey, you own one of our devices, so we will give you $10 on something others will pay full price for. I know that isn't the general consensus, but I tend to assume positive intent.
