iPhone Users Upset About Apple Promoting F1 Movie With Wallet App Notification

Not minor at all. My financials are currently monitored by two companies, due to my credentials being violated at four other corporations. I am on the third replaced credit card in the last ten years.

I’m not sure what any of this has to do with the ad. Are you saying Apple “violated your credentials” (not even sure what that means) by putting an ad in the Wallet app?

Pushing ads on a financial tool or instrument is unacceptable, I have deleted the Wallet app from my iPhone. Apple screwed up on this one; when Cupertino opens this morning, I hope the first thing the C-suite does is to terminate the clown that made the decision to push ads via the Wallet.

I understand you don’t like ads in the Wallet app and I agree with you. I think my level of dislike is just a little lower because I have a different perspective. I don’t think anyone is going to get fired over an annoying ad.

I haven't had this one but I have had plenty of notifications from Apple Music about buying their subscription... one isolated case is not a big deal, but they won't stop at just one, there'll be regular notifications just like the Music ones.

Isn't Apple rich enough? I guess not.

This is all pointless theoretical discussion, Apple would never lower iPhone price in exchange for ads. At best they might lube you up nicely so you can do some mental gymnastics about it but you're gonna get fu*ked one way or another. Yeah it’s all good and dandy but who holds the ruler accountable? Apple certainly won’t hold their own illegal actions accountable, no matter how much wrong the illegal actions are and how many people are negatively impacted by the actions. Apple is their own worst enemy and Apple is very lenient on controlling that for some years now.

Apparently they don't realize that quietly tolerating that is exactly how you get the garbage experience of Windows.

i don't mind adverts in actual shops, where you're expected to buy things, like the App Store, Apple TV app and iBooks store, but having them in things like the paid version of News, and the bottom of the Fitness app, just seems a bit greedy. I think it's just a reality of business. They are in the entertainment business now. I didn't get the ad, but could see it being an honest, hey, you own one of our devices, so we will give you $10 on something others will pay full price for. I know that isn't the general consensus, but I tend to assume positive intent.

When you frame it like this, it’s fine. I suppose it all depends on how you view Apple. If they’re an evil, greedy, monopolistic company of masterminds who don’t care about product and just want money, then this is a horrible thing. If Apple is a impure but still decent company who does still like to make even more money (greedy could still fit) but isn’t out to ruin everything, then this is just a obnoxious way of trying to make some extra money while saving us a bit.

I have 27 items in my Apple Wallet and each one would be happy if they could pay Apple to be able to send me ads. Each and every item makes money by providing a service which I have the choice to include or delete. Sending ads would be grounds for deletion. I’m only waiting until iOS 26 where we will have the choice to reject such offers being piped through our personal virtual wallets. Remember Apple - Service revenue nor ad revenue.
