If there are no rules on iOS, may as well just move to Android.

Venmo and Paypal constantly pushing their credit cards/lines down your throat comes to mind. Yes, Apple promotes Apple Card but it’s nowhere near as obnoxious as the other two companies mentioned.Because other wallet apps would never ever ever put ads in the app
Unfortunately this is exactly the thing that will NOT HAPPEN. People will continue to buy iPhone and Apple will continue to be able to get away with this forever.I hope every one votes with thier dollars on future purchases. It will be the only way to get the message across to Apple.
As if Apple really had any standards to… oh they did? But not now? Oh that’s double gross and unacceptable. This company has no standards anymore.
This is totally gross and unacceptable and not what we want out of Apple products.
Or ban all first party apps except settings app. They all violate THEIR OWN guidelines (this is for dramatic effect) one way or the other for unfair advantages and gross monopolistic behaviours.Maybe they should ban the Wallet App from the AppStore for violating their guidelines 🤔
So time for more ads I guess. How about weekly promotion of Apple Card until you sign up for one?Venmo and Paypal constantly pushing their credit cards/lines down your throat comes to mind. Yes, Apple promotes Apple Card but it’s nowhere near as obnoxious as the other two companies mentioned.
Look, I’m not saying I love ads but anyone who’s worked in marketing knows you have to push your product like crazy with all the notifications people get throughout the day. People see an ad, like the product but are too busy/get distracted to act on the ad so it makes sense to serve another one.So time for more ads I guess. I mean, it's an offer associated with Apple Pay that some people may indeed want?
I get zero notifications from Apps that I don't want. I want all of my notifications to be important to be noticed. If an app sends me notifications I don't want, I disable notifications or delete the app. Its just odd that Apple is using my Wallet app to send me ads. No big deal, I'll provide Apple feedback that I was disappointed - for whatever that will do, and disable Wallet notifications.Probably shouldn't have done it, but I get 100's of notifications a day that I hate. But to take the time to even complain to the App developer that it was annoying is better spent just clearing it. Its as if people just want attention for themselves.
where is this setting? I don't see it in settings --> Wallet & Apple Pay.Look, I’m not saying I love ads but anyone who’s worked in marketing knows you have to push your product like crazy with all the notifications people get throughout the day. By the way, there are two settings to turn off these notifications in Wallet:

Worse, Apple seems to be ignoring the guidelines that apply to App Store apps. The company says push notifications should not be used for promotions or direct marketing purposes unless users have explicitly opted in to receive them for said purposes.
The full text of Apple's guideline: Push Notifications should not be used for promotions or direct marketing purposes unless customers have explicitly opted in to receive them via consent language displayed in your app's UI, and you provide a method in your app for a user to opt out from receiving such messages.
Yes that is how marketing works. If this was a once off because some marketting exec got too excited that their childhood dreams of winning an oscar is getting closer, i'd say "just dismiss the notification and get on with your life"
The fact that they've introduced a toggle for it; specifically with wording "apple or its partners" tells me that they plan to do a lot more of this in the future.
And when they say partners, what they really mean is "anyone willing to pay us to advertise their stuff"
This settings panel is directly in the Wallet app. Tap the ••• in the top right corner and then Settings.where is this setting? I don't see it in settings --> Wallet & Apple Pay.
Is people complaining about something the bar for an article? Some people complain about everything.
I want to complain that iPhones aren’t free and automatically delivered to my address on launch day. Anyone want to join in my complaint?
Not that hard to dismiss a notification...just sayin.
People can also not give a damn while others give too much of a damn. That’s a choice we all have and i could not care less about apple letting me know i could save $10 🤷♂️People can be concerned about more than one thing at a time. Just because something bothers you doesn't mean it is de facto the biggest problem in your life.

Yeah it’s all good and dandy but who holds the ruler accountable? Apple certainly won’t hold their own illegal actions accountable, no matter how much wrong the illegal actions are and how many people are negatively impacted by the actions. Apple is their own worst enemy and Apple is very lenient on controlling that for some years now.It shouldn't be there to be dismissed in the first place... just sayin.
Look.. here's the thing that folks like you just aren't seeing. Blow this off as no big deal, and they gradually add another ad. And another. And another. Next thing you know, you'll spend 5 minutes of every hour dismissing unwanted notifications. "Give them an inch, they'll take a mile." There's a reason why Apple's very own developer guidelines explicitly FORBID doing what Apple themselves just did. It's a double standard and they need to be held accountable for it.
Had Apple sell their iPhone 30% lower their current asking price, I think people might be more willing to swallow the ad. After all, google search is free of charge to use but google still is one of the most powerful companies in the world. But nope. Apple raises the product price by 30% AND shove people with ads. It’s like paying $14.99/mo for YouTube premium in order to watch even more ads.Yes that is how marketing works.
That's a ridiculous justification.
Advertising will ALWAYS have "some people who may want X product".
That is not a rationale to bombard people with it.
