Considering it's been this way since 10:00PM, I doubt I'm seeing my iPhone today.

Why? We have similar tracking times, and it seems like our phones will be out for delivery shortly. Are you in NYC?
I'm in Westchester. It's a little outside NYC.
Has yours been updated past "Departed......" ?
Nope, but everytime I get a package through FedEx it always stops updating around the Departed phase and won't update until after it gets delivered.
mloffa,
also in Westchester also have same exact tracking as you...
I'm hoping Apple wouldn't have sent that email unless they were sure it was coming today.
So does anyone who got the 23d email know if their iPhone is out for delivery? My FedEx tracking still shows it at a local depot...
Mine still shows:
Jun 23, 2010 4:22 AM Departed FedEx location MEMPHIS, TN
And it's going to irk me to no end if Apple sent that email out without actually ensuring FedEx would deliver today. FedEx still thinks the 24th is the day, and given the track scan I've seen thus far, everything agrees with the 24th..
But I'm home waiting. Don't let me down, Apple!

Mine just shows a delivery date of tomorrow. What time does fedex usually deliver?
Mine has been in Oakland for 2 days now which is less than an hour away. FedEx still says delivery on the 24th by 4:30pm, but it does say it left the Oakland facility twice yesterday, once in the morning and once at night. I hope I get it today, but I have my doubts.
EDIT: I called the number also and it says it's en route to the facility in my zip code, but scheduled for delivery tomorrow.
donotreply@apple.com has been used since at least 2008 for invoice receipts. have you ever ordered anything else from the apple store online? if so, you'll be able to find one.
red flag #1 on the headers is that the message-id is not from the apple domain, and in fact, doesn't even list the top level domain of .com
Message-Id: <20100622055524.150C01534F2C@biweb>
compare that to a shipment notification email from apple, where apple is clearly identified in the id:
Message-Id: <ec228d$qe8sj@badger-txnvip.apple.com>
red flag #2:
the message originates from the CDT zone, and it appears that this message actually started by being sent to this "biweb" server (this entry should start with "Received: from...":
Received: by biweb (Postfix, from userid 70) id 150C01534F2C; Tue, 22 Jun 2010 00:55:24 -0500 (CDT)
this is an example of the origin of a known apple email:
Received: from cbox-ignite03.apple.com (HELO clarion.apple.com) ([17.128.113.73]) by badger02008.apple.com with ESMTP; 21 Jun 2010 10:53:03 -0700
OK. Duly noted. This time tomorrow plus a couple of hours or sooner you will either been known as a genius or a honorary member of the Black Helicopter Conspiracy Witness Protection Program.
Actually if the email is a hoax I would expect a statement from Apple this AM or afternoon, at the latest.
