and if I remember correctly, at least according to developer builds, it will only lock in portrait, not landscape.

Well... hold on, I'll check. Yup, only Portrait. To get there, in iOS4, double click the home button to bring up bg apps, then swipe left to right.

That kind of sucks hopefully apple releases an update to 4.0 to allow landscape locking.

my FedEx delivery is usually unreliable and they tend to lie about delivery attempts. Hopefully they won't do that to me this time.

Sounds like you did something terrible to your FedEx delivery guy in another life!

I'd bake him a cake.

Cake solves all problems.

its real....

Wow.

I received same email form Apple for delivery on the 23rd. However, when I track it on Fedx site it shows delivery for 24th. So guess we will see if that changes later today. My order is in Tennessee and will be delivered to Texas.

If you read the email, they specifically said "Although Apple and FedEx tracking information may currently indicate a later date, you can check the FedEx website the morning of the June 23rd to track your package to your doorstep."

Both my iphone 4 orders show delivery of tomorrow according to FedEx.

I'm still not buying it. The iPad launch had the same sorts of early FedEx dates -- yet they didn't delivery until Launch day.

An Apple email with typos that even tell people who previously were on the July 2nd delivery that they are going to get theirs a day before launch? BS!

Why is it so hard for people to accept they are delivering early. Yes, it's unprecedented. So what. It's happening, build a bridge and get over it.

Sweet! Just got my new iPhone just a couple minutes ago. Guess it was being delivered today! Good luck to others getting their new toy soon!

this guy got his already; so luckyy

I just went into the the iTunes Store and saw this page as the opening page. Obviously they are preparing for what is going to be a mass of people trying to activate, but this could also be proof that Apple is indeed shipping iP4's early (23rd) and preparing the store for a 24th activation day.

Check it out:apple:

Homie, not only have people been getting them early (today) but tons, including myself, have our FedEx pages showing delivery by tomorrow @ 3pm.

hmm.. I got an email. But my phone is still sitting in NJ with a estimated delivery of the 24th by 4:30.

I got the email also but fed ex still says 24th before 430p and it still shows Departed AK at 320p june 21

From what FedEx has told me in the past drivers can accept or decline waivers at their discretion. If they cannot find a safe place to leave the package they are not required to leave it even if there is a wavier.

In my case, I have a sig card on file with FedEx. They can leave packages and do all the time. But when the shipper insists on hand delivery, then I have to be here. And the driver said for the iPhone, I would have to be here to receive it (even though my location is really safe). It's fine, I prefer being here for it (he volunteered the info as if other customers had already asked).

It's like we have to babysit you guys.

Read the email again. It says:

Although Apple and FedEx tracking numbers show a later date, it will arrive on the 23rd.

ALTHOUGH TRACKING NUMBERS SHOW A LATER DATE IT WILL ARRIVE ON THE 23RD.
