Hello guys, at first sorry for my english

I'm reading this thread from time to time because i've got the same problem. I tried to solve with renaming the com.apple.... file in the Power Management but there was no change. Then i tried with Insomnia but the Problem is still there. I just want to ask if there are any new experiences for this kind of problem? The last post is getting older and i think the problem is still not solved. I'Ve got a 2G unlock with 3.1.2 and Cydia.

I will be happy for every answer

I fixed it for my 2G

Hello everyone, hope that this message reaches anyone needs it.

I HAD a working solution for my case.

I had this auto-shutdown problem (or other forums call it coma mode) for weeks on my 2G 3.1.3.
I tried to restore my iPhone to every firmware possible: 3.1.3, 3.1.2, 3.0.1, but no lucks.
I brought it to an iPhone store to have it repaired. All they can do is replace com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist with a customed com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist file (file#1) to keep my iPhone from coma mode, but the battery drained very quickly (it lasted only 6 hours since every full charge).
Then I got com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist (file#2) from an iPod 2G 4.0 firmware and replace my 2G's current one with it.
Now my 2G works flawlessly as before. No coma mode and no battery draining :D

I attach both file I used so you guys can try it for yourself and hope it might be the solution. (unzip and rename each file you use to com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist)

I have this problem on my iP4 (on 4.1), and it drives me crazy. I don't want to mess with the power management, but it's so annoying. Are there any other solutions?

Same problem on 3.1.3 (iPhone 2G)

I'm having the same problem, since a long long time, and it's really annoying.
I have tried bl9heart's solution above, i.e. to replace com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist (file#2) from an iPod 2G 4.0 firmware, but I've had a crash the day after...

Anyone with another solution?
I might try to replace this file with the one of another iPhone 2G which does not have this coma problem.

Any help would be really appreciated.

Problem solved accidentally?

Dear all,

Although I am not sure the problem is fully resolved, my iPhone hasn't crashed for a week, and the battery is now better than before!

I am not sure what has fixed the problem, but here is what I have done:

1) renaming com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist to com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults and PowerMangement to PowerMangement.plist
--> resulted in a day with terrible battery life and a full drain of the battery.

2) Renaming PowerMangement.plist back to PowerMangement and com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults to com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist2
--> another full battery cycle with poor battery life (changing these files seems to overclock the iPhone's processor, which isn't good for the battery)

3) Restoring com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist2 to com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist with one found on the internet.
--> no more coma mode since, and excellent battery!

I wonder if the battery could be related to this "coma" problem, and maybe draining the battery a few times completely fixed the problem!

Hope this helps anybody.
I'll let you know if the coma issue comes back.

Well, it has gone to "coma mode" twice yesterday (which I usually call "crash"), so my problem is not solved... This is more than a week without problems and it happened when the battery was fully charged.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE, if somebody has managed to fix this problem, let us know! I'm not the only one with this problem! Thanks

if possible, try restoring back to firmware 3.0. I was able to get the phone working again after downgrading to 3.0.

Hi Guys,

I just found out a solution for this problem, that many people including myself have been having with the 3g and 2g iphones.

I was sick and tired of trying out many different "fixes" with no prevail.

I started studying my iphone to see if I could seperate the problem, and I noticed that the iphone, told me it was going into this deep sleep mode when the and usage time found in settings marked approximately nothing, I will post a photo later of my screenshot so that you can see what I mean.

Any ways you have a jailbroken iPhone and know how to OpenSSH into your iphone using WinScp.

OpenSSH/WinSCP into Iphone then go to:
\System\Library\SystemConfiguration\PowerManagement.bundle

Find the file:
com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults.plist
Then rename it to:
com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults

now this is where it changes from EmNat's Solution

Look for the file PowerMangement, should be in the list where com.apple.SystemPowerProfileDefaults is and rename to PowerMangement.plist

Now you can close the window and reboot your iphone.

It does not kill battery time as much as the other solution and it defenitly does not get stuck again. I've tried it for two days and still have not seen the problem.

The only strange thing I found is that apprently it does not enter StandBy because the usage and Standby times are the same.

But it does beat having to deal with the dreaded deep sleep factor anytime.

As You Can See : the screenshots are in order

1st is normal
2nd is when problem starts to occur and after, so on so fourth
3rd is after changing the file names, kinda found out that it lasts about 24 hrs or an hour more give or take because the phone doesn't go into standby, but once again its better...

@ Manny,

I exactly followed your steps. After the extension change and reboot, the power/lock button wasn't working. I couldn't able to switch off. So I again changed files as default and rebooted the phone by using iReboot from Cydia. Now the phone is detected as in recovery mode by itunes. The power button still has no effect. Help me solve this please.
