The phone is certainly not worth the price tag. I think the hype machine of Quo worked overtime. I went in launch day to my local Verizon store and they had plenty of stock. Initially demand was from the gray market. That demand died quickly.

With that said the same design of the iPhone6, 6s, 7 & 8 has lost its excitement. The X is the step in the right direction.

They had walk-in decent availability (at least for AT&T) in Little Rock this past Saturday (of both space grey and silver).

As always, sarcastic trolling against the best iPhones on the history appears in this thread as in any other iPhone X threads :rolleyes::rolleyes: all the trolling notes always sound hatred coming from envy and jealousy feeling of wanting the iPhone X but some how could not have it as it occurs on real life around us. Sad!!
Uh Oh you used the T word, Everytime I use it on here I get erased :)

I wonder if people get on BMW's site and complain about the price?
If you don't like the price of something buy something else, what is complaining going to do?
I love my 8+ and will be getting the X at some point. :)

Would you complain if you always bought BMW series 3 and each year it goes up 15%..... yeah you would ... I wager

This is plain polemic and you know it.

People these days blow everything out of proportion. Just because they can. Or because they can't have their shiny new toy although they WANT to. So they start making up excuses and start downgrading stuff with over-the-top comparisons.

So what exactly is high end about it that would make it cost more than any other device. :apple:

Does a car analogy have to be used every single time to compare to an iPhone? That's not really relevant, as most don't are not purchasing a brand new BMW every single year either.

Ok so don't buy it! We buy iPhones because we think they are best, if you don't, buy what you think is best.
What does complaining about the price do?

Cause we want it to be a BMW for that price without a messed up windscreen ??

How about you blame the guy who started it ?

Read the thread .

No, I'm not blaming anyone. I'm specifically referring to your quote, which is not directly correlated to anything specific regarding a piece of technology in comparison to an automobile increasing in price point. Again, you're bringing up a car comparison in rebuttal, not relevant.

I walked into a Verizon store today and returned mine. Just doin’ my part to help with the supply chain.
Doesn’t help, Apple isn’t selling refurbs yet.

But it’s ok, Apple’s killing it in manufacturing; at 15 million per month, they’ll catch up with demand shortly. Like they always do.

Sorry, I forgot appropriate emoji. Just meant as a little light-hearted humor.

You are absolutely right of course. It will be interesting to see when refurbs appear — if ever.

While not an Apple store, I was also able to walk into my local Best Buy this weekend and grab 2 of them without issue (Got them on the AT&T next plan). Both 256GB, 1 Space Grey and 1 Silver.

Thought the notch and face ID would take some time to get used to, but haven't had an issue with either so far.

I have a 6S and I would really like to upgrade to an iPhone X. Unfortunately there is no way in hell I am forking out $1550.00 plus 15% HST for an iPhone. I really think that Apple's price point on this phone is just nuts. Maybe I'll go get an 8, or just hang on until next year.

would you buy IPX 256G for the official EU price of ~USD1630? U seem to be a person who will buy this device even for 2K+.. Just to have it. Honestly, this is just a phone and not a car regardless how good it is and the price is getting to a level repelling even those who can afford it. Soon stores, especially outside US where the price is still kind of acceptable, will be full of this overpriced device. I like Apple devices, but I hate nowadays apple rip off strategy..it won't last for a long time.

Hopefully this means they will remove that restriction from the west coast that requires people to order the app first.

I can’t believe how greedy the scalpers are also that created this and now they will end up having to scramble to sell these hoards of phones since they will be widely available.

Why is it so hard for some people to grasp that other people don't spend whatever amount of money "just to have something" but because they - very personally - think it's worth it for what they get?

"Value" is something very subjective.

With all the talk of how limited stock was going to be, and now they're becoming readily available weeks after launch. There is no doubt these aren't selling like they hoped.

They screwed up the iPhone 8 by making it look nearly identical to the previous 4 years of iPhones, and then they make the 10 crazy expensive and include changes most people weren't asking for.

I only bought the iPhone X because it has the notch! :p The notch does not bother me. I never knew there was an "issue" with the notch until I saw all the whiners talking about it here.

The same people who think Apple artificially constrains supply in order to drive that high demand.

The scalpers seem to think so as here in Seattle there was a 256GB X on Craigslist for 1700 dollars.

Which also amounts most people’s monthly rent. I have a buddy who paid 1650 and can’t eat for the next two weeks we’ll he can because I’ll help him out but I just don’t see why folks are paying this above premium.
