I know this might have been posted here a gazillion times but I haven't found one for the X, which I assumed would not have this problem by now.

My problem is what my thread title states. This started happening just a couple of days ago and I don’t recall doing anything different since. Rebooted my phone a couple of times and it gotten better on the last reboot but after letting it sit overnight last night, it still indicated usage close to the standby time. Checked all apps being used and nothing significant showing.

I now reset my Network Settings and hoping for a better outcome.

Oh, and my phone was acquired on launch day.

Anybody really knows what’s goin on?

I am having the SAME issue with my X . I have even erased the phone using iTunes then restored from the cloud and same issue.

I have made some progress and my “usage time” seems to be staying put when I’m not using the phone.

What did I do? Below are the adjustments I made. Note that you might not have the app listed so do some experimenting yourself and delete apps you think are the culprit:

- Turned off Push on email in Account Settings
- Deleted apps: Facebook, Amazon, Sphero Driods! (and yes I think this little app for my R2-D2 is the main culprit).

Will have to give it a try and delete apps.

Doesn’t hurt to try.

After deleting the apps I mentioned, the draining strated again so I deleted a couple more apps that I installed recently. One particular one is ‘Swiftkey’ and it seems to be doing the trick again.

Had this same issue when I was on my 8 Plus and for me it was the auto-brightness. So I turned it off and turned it back on and fixed the issue. So far so good on my iPhone X though.

Hmm...now I remember this started happening when I played around with auto-brightness. I have set it to off though. I wonder if I turn it back on.

Thanks for mentioning that.

I didn’t notice auto brightness on my X. I only see True Tone. Turned that off then back on still didn’t change anything

It's in the Accessibility > Display Accomodations. For some reason they moved it there.

Don't forget to restart after making various changes like that.

Guys. I just made progress. I just turned off location services and now usage and stand by is different. Now I have to figure out which specific app that’s using location is causing the issue.

I found the culprit that was causing my issues. It’s a parking app called “ParkWise”. All the restoring and hard resets etc. Glad it’s all fixed. Thanks guys!

I have had iPhones since the beginning and have never seen this. I used my phone maybe 2 hours today but it’s showing my usage = to my standby so I’m not sure what this means or how to fix it. I have background app refreshing off and location set to only while using apps.

Weird. Are you running iOS 11.1.2? Maybe trying rebooting your phone, it may just be a temporary glitch.

I’m running the betas but have been and not had this issue until just now. I’ll see if a reboot fixes.

Thanks for this though now I think it’s probably the beta. Forgot I was on those!

I am also have this same issue on my X and I have no idea why :( I have done a hard reset but it makes no difference.

It’s probably one of your apps. Turn off location services and see what happens. If you see a difference then isolate each app one by one until u find the culprit.

Tried turning off location services, no difference. It has only started doing this in the last few days

You should call Apple support. They may have you restore your phone via iTunes then reinstall via iCloud.

Did you ever find out the cause? I am having the same issues running 11.2.

I have spoken to Apple, and they have told me to do a factory reset from iTunes and start as new, battery hardware was tested and came back fine. I am not sure what else to do, it stops draining in standby if I sign out of my iCloud account too.

Usage: 5hr 30
Standby 5hr 32

i noticed the same this morning 15 hrs usage and exactly the same standby. Doing a hard reset and charging to 100%, has sorted it out.

Not sure if this is a battery issue or just a bug. I’ve noticed this week my battery usage and standby number are exactly the same.

Wasn’t like that before. I’ve searched and it seems it’s an issue people have had in the past and used various was for a fix.

I’ve rebooted the phone with no luck, may try and drain the battery all the way to zero and see what happens.

Anyone else with an iPhone X experience this?
