Ive tried beta 5, didn't help, I've been in contact with apple a few times and to be fair they did try help, but I had done all the trouble shooting already, im putting my money on hardware, even after I updated, the speakers now don't work at all, and still getting stuck on the apple logo, all my trouble started with crappy earpiece speaker, and now a lot more problems, does anyone know if theres a "stuck on apple logo" thread? all apple support keep telling me is to bring it in for repair, and they will discuss options then, so I dunno if they will replace it or not, il find out on the 21st

Well I have returned mine on November 2017, waited till January and just got a new one with the same crackling sound. Another person in the same store got the space grey colour and I tested his, still the same issue so seems like even newer units still have that annoying problem, Purchase date 12/1/2018.

where are you from? your iPhone have qualcomm modem or intel? Because in Spain, nobody is reporting so many bad units like here.

at this point.. apple should face off and say something about this, because its anyoning an 1000 dolars smartphone with this ****** problem
 
I'm from France and I read carefully all the topic.

Few of you are talking about the "multitasking crackling" from the speakers, and I didn't find post about it. The issue can be reproduce by playing a song on background and scrolling on twitter. When scrolling on a video without any sound, both speakers are crackling (I tried by playing with the EQ and sound balance). Also works with Snapchat's stories. Sound is clear on other apps like Facebook, or YouTube, etc.

It clearly sounds like a software issue. Does some of you are impacted ? Any advice for me?
 
well at least you guys can make phone calls with the ear piece i'm guessing? I can'T even use the speaker phone at all now as it just hangs up and says system failure, im sure my problem now Is something else, and I only noticed when the earpiece speaker got worse then stopped working but it is interesting on keeping a eye on here, to see what everyone else is discovering,, mine is produced week 42, as is my husbands, who's phone is perfectly fine, no crackle or even a hint of anything going wrong,

Today i recived the new refurbished, and the same crackling from the spaker.

I have tried more than 20 iphones X in the app store and friends here in spain, including new iphones from january, and all of them have this issue

In fansdeapple.com, lot of users have the X and not have this issue. I repeat. Not all units have this problem.

We know that in fansdeapple people are very lucky. But, please explain to me how is possible that people in fansdeapple not have this issue and here people change the iPhone X more than 5 times and still have the issue...

I can explain to you. Its a hardware problem caused by the poor quality of the earpiece speaker. People in fansdeapple Don’t know how to identificate this issue or maybe they are fans and are not able to reconozice this becouse they love apple.

I’ll add I got paid to test phones and devices for about 5 years and have worked with Apple Lead Tech on this.

Apple has admitted (to me) to the issue. Apple has said (to me) there is no resolution.

Only Apple knows if it’s hardware or software.. IMO, it’s hardware.

At that point, I would have lost patience. It has been at least 3 updates that Apple Support keeps saying that. My opinion is that they know nothing about it. It’s just their typical answer to « minor » problems they can’t help you with. That and « we could replace it ». What has to be fixed, has been fixed, either software or hardware. Units at my local Apple Store and official retailers don’t crackle anymore. And I can’t reproduce the problem on mine. Songs that were suggested here, like Skyfall by Adele, play perfectly. If you still experience the problem on your phone, it is unlikely that they will fix it.
Yes I understand your concerns ! I too am frustrated with the level of support Apple has shown ! I am now in contact with the higher Authorities of AppleCare after sending an Email to Apple's inner circle ! The person told me that nothing is wrong with the device and to wait for some more time; I asked him when will the update supposedly addressing this issue will come out and he said he cannot give a definite time frame !
Now my device is being sent out of state ! And I cannot use it for a long time ! Really bad !!

My message to Everyone here
Contact Apple about this issue and keep sending emails to the higher authorities ! Don't settle for anything !

The best way to bring it to the Attention is if we report it to them !!

I dont think all of the 35 millon users that buy the X have the problem.. or more buyers return to apple to come back their money. At this point? Maybe its better wait for the next gen. iPhone 6 had bendgate, and 4 antenagate.. so maybe this is earpiecegate, and the only solution its wait for next gen iphones.

Solution is easy. If the earpiece its a ****, stop production and make another and better piece..., dont continue manufacturin this **** if you know lot of costumers have problems.
 
Maybe random units have this problem because a bad connection from manufacters, or idk. I dont really know from where come this isse (speaker). Now some users report overheating while use whatsapp. iOS 11 its a crap
Yes I had heating issue too but when using any app ! Then suddenly it went after the current iOS update !!
Apple needs to fix these issue and get back in their game ! It has been the best and worst year for apple !! IN my opinion !!
 
I've discovered I actually get buzzing sounds whilst on a regular phone call, too. And that's without the volume being turned up particularly high. And yeah, it's really bad when listening to music at high volume.

Been hoping for a software update to fix this as many have gone through replacement phones without any luck. Has anyone had a replacement that's fixed the problem? If it's still hardware then it must be a design fault.
