iPhone X Final Color Decision (Flip Flopping)

Have the same dilemma. My last two iPhone have been white so i was dead set on on going space grey this time. However, those polished chrome sides look oh so sexy.

With they made the space grey with that chrome finish side. Would be classic iPhone 4 style design.

I suppose it's a matter of taste, as I would say that both look pretty premium. But the silver/white feels less premium to me because it reminds me of the look Samsung has used for years now on its Galaxy lineup.

I used to have silver only, but this time around it was hard, but I went SG for 3 reasons.

1. Seamless Experience - I got this phone so I can do Augmented reality. The screen should blend in with the rest of the display and the borders. The silver has shiny stainless steel that really stands out too much.
2. Camera Bumpout Color - The silver backing of my past iPhones have a small black circle for the camera, but the iPhone X camera take some up more space and is very black. It stands out too much on the Silver, with the black, it looks more uniform.
3. Case / Oleophobic Glass - Cases will cover up a fingerprint vulnerable back. Glass that is oleophobic can also help with that.

In the final analysis, I plan to use an Apple leather case, which makes the color choice of the phone almost completely irrelevant. Just wanted to update the thread

I ordered Silver and regret it a bit. I don't like the shiny band at all the more I look at it. Hoping a leather Apple case hides it for the most part.

I’d love to get the silver one, because I think it looks great and I especially love the chrome bezel. However I have a SS watch and that same chrome finish gets very scratched very easily. It would drive me a little bit mad to see blemishes on it. So, SG for me this time.

originally got the silver but when they reprocessed it the rep somehow changed it to space grey unfortunately. didn't really have a choice in the matter but would much rather have a silver

Are you thinking the leather case that exposes the screen or the leather folio?

That's not too far fetched. If the back of the phone were an OLED or AMOLED display, it could be any color you'd like. Bonus points - could also show you notifications, time etc when the phone is screen-down.

OLED and AMOLED displays use very little power compared to LCD counterparts. This will be a thing in the next 2-3 years (dual display phones).

Went with silver this time. Matches my Apple Watch with Link Bracelet quite nicely. The fact that the display will be black regardless sealed the deal for me.

Besides, it hardly matters. There’s no way I’d walk around with this phone without a case. I ordered a black Apple silicone case to go with it. I’ve gone with their leather case in the past but wanted something water resistant like the phone this time.

Silver is more pearl white this time. And the stainless steel band really makes it pop imo. Since they both have black fronts I went with Silver this time.
