iPhone X in Space Gray With 256GB of Storage is Most Popular Pre-Order Option Among MacRumors Readers

Dang, I wish I would have went with silver, but thought it'd be the most popular so I went with space gray. Figured since the sides were gone people would try the new color since they didn't have to worry about white bar.

Hope this doesn't mean I'm going to be getting the phone real late because of popularity.
 
I'm hoping preorder will go smoothly. I've favorited the Silver 256GB and plan on paying with Apple Pay. Hopefully 3 or 4 touches on my iPhone will get my order in.
 
Of course it's the most popular option! 64gb isn't nothing anymore, and it won't even be 64 when you unbox and turn on the phone. The software eats up alot.

I wish there was a 130 middle option like before, but 256 will have to be it for me.
 
Luckily in the app it shows availability before you commit to the purchase. Right now it says Unavailable but I assume it will have delivery time then after live. I’ll grab whichever is soonest, but I’m gravitating to silver. I was going to get space gray to match my MBP but it looks too dark.

I voted SG in the forum poll and silver in the twitter poll.
 
Haha I am not sure any of these polls mean you have a "better chance" at your choice. We really don't know what Apple looks at when it decides how many of each that they produce, what they see as the most popular, what carriers get which. It's really just a guessing game so I wouldn't make any changes to what you want based on this. 64GB Space Grey for me though.
 
Just curious what people use those 256 GB of storage for? Considering it is a “pocket” device vs a main workstation and all the music, videos, etc. can easily be streamed nowadays.

In years past, the color you got also determined the bezel colors on the front side. With the iPhone X (plus that fact that most people have their phones in a case) the color you choose is less of a determining factor, I would think. That said, hoping to snatch the black 64gb version on TM.

Basically with taking higher res video and photos the 64gb is just on the side of too small, i myself would have gone with 128 had it been the base. 256 is overkill but 64 is too just bit too small.

I sometimes fill up my storage capacity with movies, photos, videos, apps, games every few months.

I've never gone with the highest capacity storage before, so it'll be interesting.
 
Now if I was preordering and saw these numbers.. my butt would be buying up the Silver edition just to gain an advantage. Even against those on this forum. Makes sense! And now you don't have to worry about the front being white, because it isn't. If anything to me.. that's a big plus for the X design. One front color. Good luck to everyone this week who wants a device! I'll be right there with you in another year or two.. agh.. "big" things next year!

I'm getting the Silver 64gb. I think I just might be able to sang one on launch day seeing as everyone that I know and MOSTLY everyone on here and a few other forums want the 256GB Space Grey.....

If u were first, i guess it's a little carrier store. Those might actually not get any phones for launch day if there aren't a lot of them.

Can someone tell me which model will be the least prone to scratches? I plan to hold it for at least 3 or 4 years and it'd be really helpful to know others thoughts.

As far as I can tell, it all comes down to the stainless steel band on Silver or coated one on Space Gray.
Definitely leaning towards Silver.

I download all my Apple Music playlists to my iPhone 7 for when I’m bicycling in areas with no cell reception, which happens weekly.

Same with photos...I keep all photos in original resolution on my iPhone/iPad. I used to use the Optimized Storage option until one day I was at a ski resort with no cell reception. I couldn’t view any of my pics bigger than a thumbnail, haha!!

So that 256gb comes in really handy. I can’t wait to see them on that big, beautiful OLED, haha!!
 
When was that written it was literally silver the last two days until just the last few hours and the poll results reflect a tie.
