This has been discussed many times recently.

For me, things can't always be easily streamed. That's fine when you are at home or travelling with reliable wifi or 4G, but go away for a while, without those things, plus probably taking pictures/videos, and 64gb isn't enough.

I understand the connectivity limitations, but do you really need all your music at all times? For example, my Spotify playlist contains 125 tracks = over 8 hours of music saved to the phone. This takes up a comfortable 1,05 GB of storage. As for photos & videos, I guess if you take lots before syncing them to the cloud... But then again, with the new HEIC/HEIV formats they take less space. Different usage needs/habits, I guess. ;)

Honestly, the silver will likely be more beautiful. I have never liked the Space Grey stainless. 256GB Silver, here I come.

Plus, you can actually buff regular stainless like the the watch, though that puppy will be in at minimum a bumper.

No, like the watch, the stainless looks like black stainless, just like the watch, especially after that last on-hands video from the Apple Campus.

You're right, it's even on the web page:
For the space gray finish, we use a process called physical vapor deposition to precisely match the color of the stainless steel band to that of the glass.

Pretty shocked at the difference between the Twitter and forum poll

https://forums.macrumors.com/threads/iphone-x-which-color-storage-are-you-buying-merged.2066981/

Hoping for 64gb in silver. Hoping this will be the easiest to get hold of

I’m not. The higher percentage of over 6k users on twitter vs the forums votes per vote shows a better understanding.

Good news for silver fans. More for us.

Jet black 7 and space gray 8 just doesn't appeal to me. Smudge galore like the matte black HTC One M7 compared to the silver one.

I’d prefer Matte black but Apple doesn’t offer that past iPhone 7.

"...this year's Silver model has black front bezels..."

One reason more to wait for a smaller X-SE, which may bring a lower weight.

Yes definitely more representative of the market as a whole. Pretty big swing from 50:50 across colour in the forum vs 70:30 tho. To say both populations follow MacRumors closely it’s an interesting shift nonetheless

Isn’t that what iCloud is for? Think of it this way. You’re spending and extra 10 a month for 256GB by to Dan get 200GB of iCloud storage for $2.99.

You totally missed my point.

iCloud is absolutely fine, as long as you have reliable wifi or cellular service. When you are away from home you don't necessarily have that.

I use the cloud and have spare space on my 64gb phone 90% of the time. I need my phone to be able to cater for the other 10% though.

I certainly don't need all my music on my phone, but I like to have a decent selection available. If I am going away I will download a thousand tracks or so. I can get through quite a bit of music when I'm out and about. Thats about 5-10gb used up. I would certainly not want to be stuck with just 125 songs for a period of time.

Yes, I am taking quite a few pictures before syncing to the cloud. That's what happens when you don't have reliable internet connections. You only need to take a few videos and they can be stuck on the phone for a while.

I'd say that about 50% of the time when I go away I start to push right up to the 64gb. On a few occasions I have had to start deleting music etc in order to free us space. To avoid that, paying the extra £150 for the larger storage is money well spent.

It is certainly down to individual needs and habits. Different people have different requirements, and reliable wifi or cellular connectivity at all times makes a big difference. We don't all have that though.

For the record, 128gb would have done the job fine for me. 64gb has proved to be too little though.

I've always got the biggest memory in every iPhone, my 5s had 64Gb which was getting quite small towards the end, it's why I got the 8 in SG/256... so I'll be getting the 3rd get X in 2 years!

People are ignoring that another factor for availability is the network. iPhone X Model A1865 (Verizon) has GSM and CDMA capability. iPhone X Model A1901 (AT&T) does not support CDMA. Does anybody have an idea how many of each models (A1865 vs A1901) will be available on launch day?
