Only thing I’m disappointed about with the X vs 8+ is battery life.

My sim free 8+ lasted forever.

My att X does not.

iPhone X is a little small and disappointing?! Wow, the trolling posts around here never stop do they?! It is what it is - my iPhone SE can be considered small, but not the iPhone X. Still, if you're used to lumping around a huge uncomfortable brick in the shape of a plus phone, maybe...relatively, possibly.

To be fair, no phone lasts forever on a battery, so... Mind you, if you never put a sim card in a phone, it will last longer (honestly, I don't need to be told the real meaning of sim-free)

I came from a 6s+ which I originally purchased for the screen size, and the X isn’t near as much of a downgrade in screen size as I expected. The reduction of the overall size of the phone makes it worth it to me. It’s a perfect medium for me between a larger screen and a smaller phone. I liked my plus, but it was like carrying a boat paddle in my pocket.

Have to be honest guys, Im coming from 8 Plus and 6S Plus before that and Im disappointed. The size is kind of ok, but the only thing I like about this phone so far is the Face ID which is Mostly pretty accurate, issues on the table or counter top you have to look at it or position it a little towards your face, but same easy code unlock and not really missing Touch ID. But otherways even this OS is not optimized for this screen and this weird aspect ratio is just stupid nothing seems to fit properly unless there is a letter box or over zoom. The real estate on the screen is just wasted. Gestures are a little stupid and strange but most part are ok. Doubt I will keep it, if I was coming from regular none plus model maybe. Overall very disappointed with this launch, strange enough demand doesnt seems as crazy as with any other iPhone, or maybe finally production has been finalized to meet demand. Just my personal experience and toughts.

i'll be honest here myself i'm vision impairing. I use 6 Plus to help me see easy. i find small screen was frustrate with me when i use since iPhone 3g.iphone 4 iPhone 5 then 6plus. I was concern about the size smaller. when i read description on screen size i start to realize that my Plus had 2 black bar which you will see X more room. you won't feeling much different form plus. more we keep think too much saying screen size too small. Got try to relax and learn from new phone. don't get frustrate. otherwise maybe everyone vision is different from other. No complain about that if that is reason. I'm satisfied with X since so comfortable then carry plus my thumb was killing me. now i can type with 1 hand.

After 24 hours with the X I would as well have to say I find it a bit small. As well the shape of the display and the swipe bar at the bottom mean a lot of wasted space.

It's right on the edge of what I would say is too small for me to use. I wouldn't be able to tolerate using the smaller iPhone 8 at all. You have to accept compromises with the X, it's small and the screen is a weird shape but you get other features as a benefit. After waking up today and comparing the X and 8 Plus I feel the 8 seems very antique and there is no going back despite the better display size.

Intresting, I did same this morning, and leaning towards the 8 Plus.

I honestly get the “it feels small” sentiment. Having a plus size phone for years makes it feel small. I still love it and think it’s the best iPhone upgrade yet (and I’ve have had every iPhone). It honestly just leaves room open for next year to have a X Plus. I’m happy for that as it will feel more like an upgrade than a Xs or whatever they will call it.

Thats what I think I want is an X style Plus.

Just out of curiosity, what other benefits you find over 8 Plus.

Interesting. For me as a 6s user I couldn’t handle the physical size of the plus phones. The X is almost too big and heavy - it’s noticably heavier than the 6s and just that much wider that it starts to be clumsy to one-hand. Luckily it fits in my pocket fairly well which is one reason I ditched the plus.

There does seem to be a lot of people disappointed in the size, so has the X attracted a lot of previous 'plus' users?

I’m good ... Don’t miss my plus at all .. lol .. I will do another plus in maybe 2 years . The X made me miss a normal size phone

Go to Settings, General, About, and tap on where it says, "Model". It'll say A1901 or A1865. The A1901 is the Intel modem, A1865 is the Qualcomm modem (it's the CDMA version of the phone).
My model is MQA

So no A1901 here

I’m in the same boat after owning a 6S Plus for over 2 years and having an 8 Plus for 2 weeks. Yes, the X is smaller indeed! It takes some getting used to, but over th screen quality is significantly better. Looking at my 6S Plus after the X makes the former look very archaic, even though the screen is bigger. I’d rather stick to the smaller X having all the new features, which I find very convenient. I think the X Plus will be a must-buy though.

Is there a difference between sim free battery life and ATT battery life? Why did you feel the need to break out what carrier they are on?

Left the iPhone 7Plus, and haven't looked back! It feels more natural in my hand, and of course it is not a "brick" in my pocket! I am extremely pleased with the screen size. A number of apps need updated although I see more updated each day to support iPhone X. I forgot how nice it was to carry a normal size phone.

Just out of curiosity, what other benefits you find over 8 Plus.

Face ID - It works really well and makes the idea of touching your device to authenticate and needing a finger sized sensor to do this seem dated. I like the idea that your phone is aware of when it's owner is using it and authenticates on it's own.

Display - I like the way the glass seems thinner than the 8 Plus. I'm not an OLED fan and I hate the garish Samsung phone displays put the X display is acceptable. The display on the 8 Plus is really good though and side by side with matched brightness they are close. Both displays have their issues, the X has a slight pentile fuzz and the 8 Plus has less legibility. If only the X display was 5mm wider....

Size - This is both a complaint and a feature and it's clear that Apple chose this size so as not to alienate those who need smaller phones, and also to have something that would draw in Plus users. For me this means the first time in ages that I can fit my phone in any pocket I have.

Build - The X is gorgeous, and the build makes the 8 Plus look very "glass sandwich".

So compromises, pluses and negatives.

Trying to figure that out...

I juts hooked the phone up to Xcode and looked at the logs.. I think the photo library may be the culprit. My library is about 60,000 images. So, I think it's burning battery indexing it all, etc..

I'm just not getting the type of battery life that others are reporting, so, trying to figure out what's wrong.

Yeah if you have a 256gb version, more of your photos are actually being put on the phone. It will be busy for the next few days.
