So I set my Alarm (east coaster) for 2:45 am. Found out as I was doing that, I have a preset alarm on my iPhone called New iPhone! I might have done this before:)

Waited for 3:01 to arrive with my phone opening and closing (with the double tap -flick method) for the Apple store to come up in the Store App. I had pre-saved my device (iPhone X Silver 256Gb) in my favorites as is the custom. Got in almost immediately after 3:01,maybe something like 30 to 40 seconds after 3:01. Pulled my phone out of the favorites and placed the order. It returned instantly with the "we can't reach your carrier message (ATT). Got my Reservation Number. Went back to bed.

Got back up at 8:00 and checked for my email to proceed. None. Noticed that Apple said they would email me at tdar, Not tdar@something.com- figured that I needed to check this out. Indeed I did. Apple has changed the requirements for Apple ID's and my original one (the one I use for the store that is from 2001, now has a ID that is not supported. You now HAVE to use a email address. So I fixed that.

I still did not see my email to proceed.

I went to the buy iPhone Web site and they were ready to complete my order. First thing I noted was that they had recorded my payment method wrong. I was going to pay in full ( I thought that would be the fastest way to order and get a Nov 3rd delivery.) Now it was set as ATT Next. I have no problem with that as in fact if offers me more options, so I went ahead with it and now have a completed order and do have a November 3rd delivery date.

So other than a few things that did not go as planed (both having to deal with ATT) not all that bad. One other note though- I checked right before typing this (9:00 am EST) on the ATT app and could order an upgrade with the same phone specs I ordered through Apple that I had to get up in the middle of the night to order, and had a delivery date of Nov 2-10!

I also got a reservation from Apple but they sent the email to finish the order to an old email that they refuse to change. I’ve changed that email with customer service and online but they still use it.

Anyone have a link to the ‘reservation’ page? I have the number. Been on the phone since 8am... 50min on the phone while someone helps me. :(

I feel bad for anyone trying to use the site, which was still down after I already placed my order with the app. I placed my order only seconds after the app was back up, taking just a couple taps and paying with Apple Pay. I ordered the 256GB in Space Gray and my email confirmation says "Ships in 1–2 weeks". Yikes. Supply is tight.

It was the opposite way round for me on the UK store - my website order completed before the store app had even come back online.
 
Was panicking last night! Woke up at 2:45am to make sure I had time to actually wake up and do what I need to do :)

3am hit, kept relaunching the Apple Store app on my phone and iPad - then started trying Safari and Chrome on the iPad with no luck. 3:10 rolls around and it finally launches. Dates slipped to 2-3 weeks already (AT&T 256 Silver) but I still was able to secure a pick-up at the store for Nov 3! Score!

I was hoping to take off that day, because I need a long weekend anyways, but I set my pick-up time for 6pm. If I get off work can I get it earlier than that if I go to the store? I'm sure I'd have to wait a bit, but since it's reserved can't I pick it up at any time?


You will have to go at your scheduled pick-up time. (I try going 2 hrs early last year and they didn't let me get the phone till closer to my time.)

Nice, I got the confirmation email for the order but my card has not been charged. The email says processing order. I wonder why. I know my card wasn’t declined because I would’ve gotten an email or something from the bank.

Still on the phone, 1hr 10min on hold for sales...


At least they didn’t loose my reservation! LOL


Let me know if you hear anything from sales. Pretty close to just ordering with ATT.

I found the store (Apple App) was down until about 12:14am. The website came on a minute before my App but I had everything pre-approved so I used the app. I also had to try 3 or more times as I kept getting an error at the final checkout step.

Mine shows Nov 17-24 so I guess when the site was down for me it was up for others ;(

That means that they are not ready to complete the order yet. Keep checking back at that site. At some point you should see it change to a page with a big CONTINUE button on it. Click that!

Which number did you call?

I have a reservation (that I am almost certain will be a Nov 3rd date), and a successful order with a Nov 17th date. Before it becomes unchangeable, see if they can just give the successful purchase the date of the reservation and call it even.

Same situation here. Kept refreshing the App Store app and the browser on macbook. Once i finally got to the checkout, the delivery was set for 2-3 weeks.

Yeah thats why I didn't risk it. I went ahead an ordered with 2-3 weeks dates. From what I gathered in this thread, the ship dates at the time of your attempted order should be honored.
 
Did anyone else get a failure with the Citizens One credit check for the Apple Upgrade Plan and then get an email from them today with the excuse;
  • UNABLE TO ACCESS CREDIT REPORT. CONTACT CREDIT BUREAU TO CONFIRM YOUR STATUS
I went through the trouble of pulling my credit report from Equifax after getting this note from Citizens One and it is fine, stellar credit and nothing negative on my credit report.

Bizarrely Equifax does show that a hard credit pull was performed by Citizens One at the time of the pre-order.... so apparently their system could be reached despite what Citizens One showed in their explanation for the credit failure.

Its a safety measure taken when your information is compromised, more than likely added/done when the equifax breach occurred, usually knowingly, but I can see how maybe it may have happened unknowingly going through some of the programs Equifax was offering at the time.
 
Got 3 64gb Space Grey, 4th had carrier confirmation issues, waiting on the email to finish that one. 3 for day 1 not bad I guess. First time I've gotten up to try and do the day 1 order. Took until 0307 Eastern to get in on the app, the first 2 wer
 
Ordered AT&T NEXT plan thru Apple store app. Was able to get thru after a min or two of refreshing the app. Got the 64GB space grey for a Nov 3 Delivery. Confirmation email and everything. Very happy... and then after I woke up around 6am had an email that said problem with payment. try changing it to different payments and even called bank. They said plenty of money should not be a problem must be on Apples end. So after an hour finally got an email confirming change of payment snd no more payment error on status page so fingers crossed no more glitches but I won't be celebrating till it ships.
 
Tried to buy it when the store reopened. Had problems connecting to verizon (under wife's name and forgot pin). Have it "reserved" while they figure it out? I did another order this morning. Wife's number or something like that. Order placed. Shipment Dec 11-18

I've already confirmed that my credit account is not locked. I've also confirmed I was not affected by the Equifax breach.
 
I didn’t get in until 10 minutes after the hour, and by then shipping estimates were 2-3 weeks. Thanks, Apple.
Same here. Tried accessing from both phone and laptop. Took me a good 10-12 mins. Shipping 2-3 weeks

This has happened to me every time I can remember. I don’t expect to be first, but by the same token I don’t expect to ALWAYS be last. There has to be a better way to manage the new iPhone lottery.
 
Woke up a little after 1:10 am MST. Went online to the Apple store. Placed an order and got Nov.17-24 delivery date. Placed a second order and got the same ship date. Both orders emails were received at 1:27am MST and 1:37am MST respectively. I had an initial issue signing into my Apple Store account. The first order was placed as a 'Guest' and the second order was placed in my account.
