In the iPhone upgrade program. The Apple store app, which was required for us, did not work until 12:14. I’m on t-mobile and Apple confirmed I could not do the mail exchange and had to pick up in store. But I was forced to do the mail exchange because the app wouldn’t let me select a store.

I’m supposed to get mine after 11/17. Very confusing. I’ll call Apple about this. Wish me luck.

Which number did you call?

I have a reservation (that I am almost certain will be a Nov 3rd date), and a successful order with a Nov 17th date. Before it becomes unchangeable, see if they can just give the successful purchase the date of the reservation and call it even.

The normal Apple number 800 my Apple

I still got nothing though

I did the iPhone Upgrade Program pre-approval and couldn't be more impressed by it. The app wouldn't load until about 2:02 CT, but as soon as it did it popped up with my phone info already selected and a continue button. A couple easy taps later and I have a phone to pick up on Nov 3.

Same here. I couldn't get in for the 1st 10 minutes or so, but once I got in putting the order was just a couple of taps away. Then I was a little stressed because I didn't get any acknowledgement that Apple had accepted my order.

After about 45 minutes of obsessing, I decided to just go to bed. When I woke up this morning I went straight to check email and was pleased to see that Apple had sent me an acknowledgement at 5:13 am, a couple of hours after I placed the order, acknowledging that I will be able to pick up the phone (space grey, 256GB) at my the Apple Store 6 miles from my house on the afternoon of Nov 3rd.

That's crazy that it took hours to get your confirmation. I just checked the time on mine and it was 2:02 CST, so it was immediate after the order. Their servers were acting wonky last night though so it makes sense.

I waited in the que on the ATT website until 12:10 am Pacific. Then it took me another 21 minutes to maneuver through the website to get a 256GB Space Gray upgrade on the Next Plan. It was so weird because glitches were happening such as telling me my current device was not eligible for upgrade when it WAS eligible. So I had to approach the upgrade from a different way and finally got it to go through. By the time I got the payment part done (two different ways), it was 12:31am. I still had a delivery date of November 3rd and have an updated confirmation email this morning that continues to say so. The most awesome thing is that I am traveling in Oregon right now which made it so I don't have to pay sales tax. That saved me alot of money. Maybe I had such good luck because I really didn't care one way or the other whether I got the iPhone X now or months or a year from now. Just tried it out of curiosity. Go figure.

So strange I thought I had set it for in-store pickup but the order says delivery on Nov 3rd. But ya know what, i'm ok with that. :D It looks like this year in-store pickups are extremely small shipments. I checked it again right after I ordered and San Francisco (flag ship store) was sold out.

I ordered within 1 minute of the page going live in the app

I figured it would be OK seeing as if I tried going back to the order it would tell me the Apple was processing my order. In the grand scheme of things, I am not in any real hurry. My 7plus works fine, and if I had to wait a few weeks to get a new toy, so be it. Of course if I can smugly say that now that I have one coming in a week. Had I had to wait a month or two, I'd probably be grumbling and complaining. ;-)

I had a reservation too, but I didn't believe that. So I kept adding the phone to cart and checking out and about 3 seconds later it gave me the option to check out my cart. Good luck with the reservation, your shipping is probably 6+ weeks. Reservations dont reserve shipping slots.

It doesnt.

I first got a reservation confirmation but since I know it doesnt save shipping slots, I kept adding the iphone to cart and it let me checkout about 30 seconds after. My order was placed at 12:04 PST.

I got my reservation email at 3:02am PST.

The apple store app is always, always faster. My store was loaded at 12:03am PST

Would not load for me and besides for whatever reason Apple does not allow PayPal checkout on Apple Store app which I needed to use (since I wanted to use my PayPal credit line account).

NONE of this would have been an issue if Apple would have genuinely sold us the phone out right. There is no point in having an option to pay full price & have to enter in information about our carrier for them to contact them (our current issue). I am paying for this phone in full, sell me the phone! End of story!

People with reservations don't loose hope. I got into the system at 3:05 EST. ORDERED 256 space gray from AT&T. Got the could not contact carrier message and a reservation confirmation. Tried again and told me I already had a phone reserved on that account. Didn't have any emails or anything. Went to bed not sure of my situation. Got up around 6:30. Had an email from apple around 5:50 EST that I had a reservation and that I would get another email when I could complete the order. Had a second email around 6:10 EST that said I was ready to complete my order. Went online and finished the AT&T verification and upgrade program registration. Got a confirmation email that my phone will be delivered 11/3. My reservation time was 3:08 EST.

All hope is not lost, hang in there.

Marvelous. Apparently Citizens didn’t think I could afford another IUP. Order did not go through. I should’ve bought it outright and changed to payment plan if needed.

Getting it in Launch Day would’ve been great, but I’m gifting my 8 Plus to my daughter for Christmas, so as long as I receive it before then, I’m good...I think...

May try the Apple Store on Launch Day if needed.

Ordered 256GB Space Gray using AT&T Next. Added $100 down payment to lower monthly cost. Shows December 11-18. At least that’s before Christmas.

Did you get an e-mail from Citizens? I only received an e-mail from Apple stating "There was a problem processing your application for the iPhone Upgrade Program or iPhone Payments with Citizens One because we were unable to verify your information.
Please place a new order on apple.com." Apple sent this about 3-1/2 hours after I got the "Citizen's servers are busy; we'll e-mail you in 8 hours" message at the end of my order. Never got an e-mail directly from Citizens.

Got my order in at 3:02 eastern - received my Reservation Confirmation email but waiting on the next email " when we're able to reach the carrier systems" - ATT - Anyone else still waiting for that email?

Just got the second emails and processed the orders - Delivery on Nov 3!!!!!!!!!!!!

No email from Citizens either. Same 8 hour message. Got up for nothing. December ship date.

Went through the apple website completed my order around 2:06 CST for my AT&T Space Gray 256 gb with the next plan. Pick-Up set for Nov 3. CANT WAIT!!!!!!!!!!

You can deny it all you want, it's happened before to me so good luck. I got a reservation AND placed an order. Check attached images. It says "maintain delivery priority", however when I placed an order via the reservation system before that was reserved at 12:03am, the shipping was 1 month+ out.

My card was just charged for 256 space grey arriving 11/03.
I can verify that Jerz has no idea what he is talking about...

Got my confirmation emails, and my place was held in line. :)

I am in the IUP was able to finally get into the Apple Store app at 12:12am, couple minutes earlier than you. In my case I was able to select a store and pickup time on 11/3, though by then delivery was already up to 2-3 weeks delay. Unlike last year I suspect Apple allotted some amount of stock to IUP members for in store pickup. Good luck with your scenario!

Just a small follow-up on Citizens. I was a bit peeved so I had a few minutes and called them. They initially said that the problem was a mis-match in address between my credit report and my address.

Then after talking about billing vs. shipping address it came up that I had tried to pay for the IUP with a business credit card... they said that business credit cards won't work. Would have been nice to know when I was planning my order.

Got mine as well and held my 2-3 weeks delivery. But delivery is Nov 17-24 which is really 3-4 weeks.

For me, both the Apple store website as well as the Apple Store app did not get refreshed until about 12:21am PDT. Same thing EVERY year . Why do others see the store get refreshed so much quicker?! Is that an ISP caching issue?

I don't think it's a site issue but is the default behavior when the site is overwhelmed with traffic. The same behavior was in the Apple Store app that I was forced to use for the IUP scenario. I suspect all your browser requests to purchase flow were simply rejected and the store closed message displayed until you were able to finally reach an online store server.

If I have a phone on order with AT&T Next, and it's already showing up against my AT&T account is it possible to show up at an Apple Store on launch day and still pick a phone up? Can they just cancel the order at that time and I pay cash for an unlocked phone?

My experience differs.

I got into the store at 12:10 or so, and by then delivery had slipped to 2-3 weeks. I just got the e-mail to complete the "reservation" and my delivery date is now Nov 17-24, which is *3-4 weeks*.

My relationship with Apple is similar to an abused spouse. I regularly find myself saying, "They won't beat me up again like last time," and sure enough, they do.

This whole situation is just ridiculous, if you are part of the upgrade program and are promising to upgrade every year, you should be guaranteed an upgrade for release day every year. I had everything ready to go they should we should for iUP, but I can't get in and now I have to wait till the 17-24th??? Totally unfair.

I upgrade every year and have since the first iPhone. I own every product you can think of from Apple, I am a huge supporter in the company and what do we get in return? No loyalty from a brand we show so much loyalty too. And worst part is they won't do anything because they know we will just keep coming back with sucker written on our forehead.
