I was in the upgrade program but paid my iphone 7 plus off because of prior years I figured I would just have to buy outright to be quick enough to get my X order in. This saddens me , wish I waited lol. Hopefully they allow new customers to get pre approved then I would prefer to dot he apple upgrade program.

So I am on the Verizon upgrade plan. When I go through the Apple app, I see the option to use that program or do the iPhone upgrade program through Apple. I have wanted to go to Apple as I feel they might be more reliable, but does anyone know how that will work? I'd assume I'd order through Apple and then just turn my 7 Plus back into Verizon? Second question, does it make more sense just to use the Verizon upgrade option through the Apple app? A bit lost on what would be better. Any insight is appreciated.

No, you would still have to honor your installment plan with Verizon. Essentially, you’d have to sell your 7 Plus and pay off the full balance you owe to VZW.

Got it, so might make more sense just to stay on the plan I am currently on. Do you know if there is a difference of going through the Apple Store app or through Verizon's app? Same thing I am guessing? Seems a little weird.

You can enroll When you purchase an iPhone. It is chosen as a method of payment.
Those who are enrolled in IUP for at least 6 months are allowed to upgrade after making a minimum of 12 payments.

If your not already in IUP you can select it during preorder on 10/27

No difference as far as installment plan options, etc but the Apple Store app is just WAY WAY easier/faster to use haha.

So it's essentially the exact same thing, just through the Apple store app? I agree with the speed, so I want to consider it.

Essentially the same process with less steps. Give it a test run on the Apple Store app using an iPhone 8. Just don’t pay for the phone obviously. It’s buttery smooth compared to the VZW app/site.

Yea I have considered it. I know the Verizon app was working something like 10 minutes early last year so I may give a look close to midnight, but if not I'll go through the Apple app. Definitely smoother from what I have seen. Appreciate the info.

Hang on, I'm already on the IUP and I pay via automatic withdrawal from my bank account. Now they want a credit card? And I can't use my debit card? I am not interested in putting this charge on a credit card every month.

All done!!
Can someone who completed this for the iPhone8 tell us what to expect on pre-order day, is there a prompt the moment we log into app store app?

Did it for the 8 Plus, when you are able to get in the App Store once they open, at the top you will see complete your upgrade. Then you just complete it and you are done very quickly.

They have always wanted a credit card, you can just change it through Citizens One after the first payment.
