I ordered a silver 256 GB and a gray 256 GB iPhone X on 05 Nov. Both still have deliveries of 06-13 Dec. I keep reading about production times decreasing (now down to 1-2 weeks) and thought mine would get pushed up... not so.
Would be surprised if you don’t get sometime very soon

This is excellent news. I hope next year it’s even more to deter people from buying one. Makes my chances of getting it on launch day even better. $1500 on the iPhone X 6.5”.....I spend that in aftershave.

Don’t forget Apple also (very smartly) released the iPhone 8 and 8 plus weeks earlier then the X. Had they just released the X and let’s say the X Plus, along with a price drop of the 7 you would see sales and demand even higher for the X. Bottom line, Apple doesn’t care if you buy an 8 or an X. As long as you buy something.

People with common sense will avoid this. By not buying, Apple will listen and find ways to cut costs - if Samsung can, why can’t they? Just doesn’t make sense.

Yet some buy for some kind of status in society same as 15mins of fame and then forgotten...please don’t complain if Apple starts charging £2k for a phone. iPhone X is a social (Facebook, WhatsApp etc) device vs a Tablet (semi-laptop for productivity, art, movies etc)

iPad Pro costs less and yet its powerful- oh and its 12.9” again doesn’t make sense why the phone costs so much.

Apple are becoming a repellent and are doing a good job.

"suggesting Apple's efforts to ramp up production have successfully resulted in greater supply."

..or that demand is not as good as expected.
If demand weren’t strong, Apple wouldn’t have provided guidance for a record breaking Oct-Dec quarter, would they? $84-87 Billion. Amazing, isn’t it?

No matter how bad you want Apple to fail, the X is a huge hit, and Apple stock is only around a dollar short of its all time high :)

And, hoping for others to fail is bad karma, don’t you think? And maybe kind of a waste of time and effort?

Could be time for a new hobby.

Each to their own. I believe we should stop judging those who spent £999/£1,150 on an iPhone.

I don’t understand why “we” are not complaining about why people are driving a £40/50/60/70/80+k car with £10,000 worth of options when it can do the same thing as a £10k VW UP?

Are people who are buying the iPhone X wrong for wanting to enjoy luxury, if they can afford it?

Am I wrong?

When I desire something and can not afford it I find ways to increase income stream to do such. It’s the reason why I drive a new car, have an iPhone X and more.

Read the book: Rich Dad Poor Dad

Sorry if this sounds like a lecture or a dig it’s going to everyone including myself first, because I see a lot of people insulting buyers of the iPhone X or digs at Apple for doing so!

I ordered a silver 64gig iphone X from ATT today, and it's scheduled to arrive on Friday.

I am an Apple nut and change my iPhone almost every year. I didn’t this year as I thought it was too expensive for the feature and benefits it brought. I also am yet to meet anyone in my circle of friends, family or work colleagues who have bought the iPhone X which is unheard of. This tells me that demand wasn’t what they expected. But here in the UK it was just over priced.
I have no problem believing folks in the UK have more important things to deal with than running out and buying the latest iPhone.

But overall demand is exactly what Apple expected: huge. And they’ve issued guidance for a record-setting quarter as a result.

Yes, you are right about wanting to enjoy luxury, if they can afford it but where’s the option? Oh yes, iPhone 8 same as 6S but with wireless charging. We, the customers, have supported the iPhone since day 1, so it is unfair with the price increase - shows Apple only care for themselves. Samsung Note 8 (no notch, headphone jack and priced reasonably) vs Apple iPhone X pricing. How can Apple justify it? I can afford it but will not let Apple have it.

In regards to cars, as long as it takes me from point A to B, I actually don’t care. I am not a show off. However, I do like my iPhone and iPad Pro 12.9 (more of iOS than Mac). iPad Pro costs less than the phone, so the pricing is ridiculous.

My point is that we are encouraging this price increase and if you don’t buy, Apple will listen to us, so it’s annoying when people defend it and describing it as a luxury item. I wish they could see it!

We in the UK, we think differently. Apple try again.

Out of curiosity (I'm pretty out of touch on these issues).. whats the difference or benefit in getting the Sim free version? I just got my iPhone X last week, and my concern was that i was with Sprint, but wanted to switch. Apple advised me to reserve the Sprint phone, anyway. They said it comes unlocked and is universal.. they just cautioned me to not turn it on with the Sprint SIM inside. And sure enough, i went to each local cell company (T-Mobile, AT&T, Verizon...) and they all said that i could activate the phone on their service no problem.
So is there some benefit i don't know about to buying one that doesn't come with that Sim card in there?
You get a SIM card removal tool. That’s about it.

I know I’m repeating myself but can we now at least expect to see the X on Apple’s EPP soon..? Would be great to see this available to employees in time for Christmas, Tim!

"Some buy for some kind of status" .... oh the irony.

Does it feel great, does it make you feel superior by belittling people who buy an iPhone X? Because in your opinion they lack common sense and are hence stupid.

Apple was NEVER cheap. I remember times where normal Macbooks would be way past 2k for the entry models.

And yet, at the same time the same people who complain about Apple's pricetag complain about conditions in factories. Hypocrisy much?

I for one am willing to pay more for quality. I for one am willing to pay more so people - including the folks at Apple - can have a living wage. You do know they're not working for free, yup? (and yes, no need to point it out, I'm well aware that Apple isn't great in terms of their factories/cheap labor).

Being stingy is not cool.

And besides, maybe people should stop wanting everything there and now. Get a feel for value. Have to save. Keep things for any number of time (why do you NEED to update every year?)

At the end of the day, it's every persons very personal business how they spend their money. Don't want to spend that much? Great, go spend it on something else. Want it but can't afford it? Stop being envoys and sour and start saving.

My original delivery date that I saw when I ordered 50 minutes after pre-orders started was mid-December. It did move up a few days but then a week ago I got a notification that my phone was shipping. I received it November 20th, about 3 weeks earlier than my original date.

I am replacing an iPhone 5s and so was expecting some significant changes. I am not disappointed. Face ID is great and reliable especially compared to the Touch ID on the 5s. There are so many ways in which Face ID works better especially for apps that require an ID for specific functions (no reaching for the Home button, it's already done!). I am really excited by the potential of this phone as I know software today barely touches what it is capable of. I also strongly believe in the future of AR.

There is a very good reason this phone is selling very well and I am glad people are able to get ahold of it.

It's clear the demand is not at all high as they were expecting. People don't want to spend 1400€ for a phone (understandably). I think it's the first time ever a flagship iPhone is widely available so soon after launch…

Precisely. Shipping times are NOT decreasing from increased production. Wait for the actual numbers. The 8 Plus will surpass the X for Q1. :apple:

Totally agree. All this BS from Apple to hype their products. They do it all the time and people fall for it. Seriously can you believe that a company like Apple would have short supply of iPhones during the holiday season?!?
If they can find ways to evade taxes, they can scheme anything they want.
Apple never said the X would be in short supply.

And tax minimization is quite different from tax evasion.

Even as I was reading this thread, I received an email from Apple updating my order. The expected delivery originally scheduled for between December 8th and 15th has been updated for between December 7th and 14th.

Now, that's what I call news to use.
