No, because the price is completely insane, and well above the iPhone 6 levels.
I ordered mine a couple of days ago, as I didn't want it until closer to Christmas. The original date was 6-13 Dec. This afternoon it's moved up to 24 Nov-1 Dec which is pretty decent. I'm not sure I want it then, as I'm just worried about my xmas shopping budget, but I'll see how things go.

It's not a huge price increase, but the technology is insanely futuristic. Apple is actually forecast to be making less profit on each iPhone X unit sold versus the iPhone 8 and iPhone 8 Plus.
I'm with you there. Seems like Apple gave priority to the carriers over the apple store customers
I found that really annoying as well. I understand that they needed to contact the carrier to verify your account and pre-provision the SIM, but why can't the customer do that once he receives the phone? Especially when they are paying the full cost up front! I would rather they just skip that step. It cost me getting a 2-3 week window instead of launch day.
Uh- what's the demand for $1000+ phones outside the US - Apple is being bailed out by US carriers making it seem like this is an affordable phone - which it's not - this is ridiculously overprice.Low demand.

I' ve ordered 7 minutes after the begin for the Apple Store Down and I need to wait until 28! this is bad! not ordering it now and receive the phone in the first day of December!

There's so many ads of iPhone X online in my Craigslist area.
I'd wager 20% of preorders (could be more)... Are looking to sell theirs. Yet some will use it for a few days only to contemplate they will be better off selling it for profit.
Regardless of it being open, I'm sure they'll make a $100 profit off it... Perhaps more.
Your better off having a go at stores, whether be at Apple or 3rd party retailers.
That's my plan. Its likely you'll be able to find one in stores before your due date... But I'm not sure your area and how many stores that carry them.
That's probably true. If the stores are getting daily shipments, there is a good chance you can score one way before Dec.
It's their experience... He was up late and ordered at a reasonable time :07 and still had a delay in shipping.
The commenter experience was terrible, if I were them..I'll feel the same. I had a error connection on my order which sent me a reservation message around :08-:09. And my delivery date was 11/3, and the commenter placed their order before mine.
