US pre-orders are now 3-4 weeks... I bet everyone who Pre-ordered on the first day get a bump

Mine was ordered last thurs during 5-6 week wait. Ship set for dec 21-28 which at the time was way more than 5-6 weeks. Now it’s updated to 8-15dec. Will it improve more? Considering it’s been a week already, 3-4 weeks brings it late nov...

Still not as long as my 4K appletv. "order in progress now for well over two weeks and actually ordered 2 weeks before. This is the 4th week since I ordered. I'm starting to think they just plain ran out and decided not to make anymore.

iPhone X shipping estimates have improved to 3 to 4 weeks in many countries around the world, including the UK, Australia, Japan, China, and more.

In fact, shipping estimates are better in what appears to be all first wave launch countries in Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East.

At three to four weeks, customers in those countries who place an order today will be able to get their hands on an iPhone X right around the beginning of December. Customers who have already placed an order should also see their arrival times improve, and MacRumors readers are already reporting decreased wait times.

The new shipping estimates are an improvement from the 5 to 6 week estimates we saw just after pre-orders sold out. Estimates have not yet improved in North America, so we're still seeing 5 to 6 week wait times in the United States, but the better shipping estimates should soon expand to all launch countries.

Apple's iPhone X is on the verge of launching, and the first orders will arrive to customers in New Zealand and Australia in just a few hours. Apple Stores will be opening at 8:00 a.m. local time across the globe for in-store sales.

I’m still seeing this 3 to 4 weeks in US.

I don't know that consumers are canceling orders because excitement is down. I would say if anything, this is likely the most exciting time when others start receiving their devices Ahead of schedule or on time. If anything, if somebody doesn't like iPhone X, they likely will just return it during the 14 days.

I for one ordered the iPhone X from two places: Apple Store (via the app that was up and running ~7 minutes after the sales start-time) and from my carrier here in Finland, exactly at the moment orders were accepted (10.01 local time).

My order with the carrier went through some 10 minutes before the order at Apple Store.

Apple Store had a delivery estimate of Nov 14 - Nov 21 for a Silver 256GB iPhone X for the order.

My carrier began shipping iPhone X out to customers yesterday, and today around 3.20 pm the home delivery arrived, right on time on launch day.

As soon as I got the shipment tracking number from my carrier yesterday, I cancelled the Apple Store order, as it would have arrived a lot later.

I wonder how many people did the same and ended up cancelling the order that would have shipped later? That could explain, in part, why the Apple Store shipping estimates have improved?

(edit: Also the iPhones sold by carriers in Finland are unlocked, as it’s required by local consumer regulations. So there was no difference between the two iPhones I ordered; it was a no-brainer to cancel the “late arrival”.)
