Does anyone know the internal of Apple operations?

Sometimes engineering issues related to production are solved overnight. I’ve been involved in some such cases. I for one believe Apple before any one in this forum.

I have buy all the iPhones and in all this years I never see that the Apple Store opens after some minutes from the exact time of the pre order. Also it was unfair to open access to the USA first.

This time the pre order was a mess, Apple needs to check what was the issue and never again do the same to their customers.

Why was it unfair?
LG makes phones available in different countries at different time. So does Samsung.

The data is already flowing out, in the form of credit card transaction data from China.

“Price appears to be a major constraint on iPhone X demand, particularly in China,” Bernstein analyst Toni Sacconaghi said in a recent report that showed three-quarters of Chinese respondents were excited by the upcoming launch, but only a quarter said they planned to buy one.

Some Chinese re-sellers, however, said they already canceled pre-orders for the iPhone X, concerned there wouldn’t be enough of a supply bottleneck to allow them to charge a steep premium - despite some worries about long waits.

“I saw many friends were posting pictures of themselves successfully ordering the iPhone X, so I canceled mine,” said Tony Tong, 29, a product manager at a tech firm in Beijing, who said he had ordered four phones in the hope of re-selling them for a profit. “The environment is bad for scalpers.”

That's not much as far as data goes. That's one market, and who are the "respondents"? How many were asked? How were they selected?

I'm not trying to say that you're wrong, but there's insufficient data to draw any conclusion. Time will make things clearer.

Anything is possible. But Apple ramped iPhone X production for at least 6 weeks now.

Suddenly, something is solved overnight? Right when early adopter demand normally falls off?

I shouldn’t be surprised.

Each year since the iPhone 6, supply has ‘magically’ improved from 5-6 weeks, 3-4 weeks, all the way down to Delivers tomorrow by Christmas Eve every year.

Every year Apple ‘magically’ finds enough supply to deliver just in time for Christmas!

Coincidence? Who knows...

I did buy into the hype with the reports claiming the phone would be pretty much impossible to find before Christmas this year.

I was originally planning on purchasing the phone closer to Christmas, but didn’t want to risk it by not pre-ordering and missing my shot to get the phone by December 25th.

Looks like I should have just stuck with the original plan and waited until Black Friday; there may be some really good incentives to purchase on that date, and still get the phone by Christmas.

iPhone X shipping estimates have now improved to 3 to 4 weeks in the United States and Canada, up from a previous shipping estimate of 4 to 5 weeks.

The updated 3 to 4 week shipping estimate applies to all carriers, colors, and capacities, and it means that orders placed today will arrive right around the beginning of December rather than later in the month.

Earlier today, iPhone X shipping estimates improved to 3 to 4 weeks in countries Europe, Asia Pacific, and the Middle East, while shipping estimates were still at 5 to 6 weeks in North America, but now the iPhone X lists the 3 to 4 week shipping estimate in all first wave launch countries.

With shipping estimates improving, customers who have already placed an order for the iPhone X are also seeing their prospective delivery dates bumped up in many cases, and as available supply grows, delivery estimates should continue to improve further.

Just this afternoon, Apple CEO Tim Cook said Apple is working to increase production week by week to get the iPhone X to as many customers as possible as fast as possible.

As it's already November 3 in many countries around the world, the first iPhone X models are in the hands of customers. Apple's U.S. launch will kick off in the United States at 8:00 a.m. local time, with those on the east coast being the first to get the new devices.

Yep. And / or they could have fixed the "problems" 2, 3, 5 weeks ago and been ramping up like a champ.

Why? It's called PR ..... kinda gullible to accept anything they say.....

I ordered mine at the pre-order date on 27th. Pretty much spammed the site to gain access. Was able to order at 3:13 AM with the delivery estimated 21-28th of november.
I am very confused, a lot of people got their shipments shifted to earlier dates from 11th to 18th of november to 3rd of November and now i read even people expecting their orders after december, are getting their delivery to earlier dates. Yet my shipment dates haven't changed, i live in Canada, Toronto. This is just ridiculous in my opinion.
I dont want to wait in line for it to get it on the launch day but this kind of got me angry.

OMG !!! people who were skeptical about supply shortages TAKE that ! ..... wait...

shock horror..... rinse and repeat scenario under Cooks Apple, supply shortage followed by quicker than expected deliveries ....

Enjoy your iPhones tomorrow , others, you will get them sooner .... the line outside the nightclub does not indicate the people inside ... hint hint

I'm actually more inclined to believe that either demand has been slower or Apple was fudging the truth when they denied sacrificing standards to improve order times. There was talk of production issues way back before any real hype started to build, so I don't think it was all talk.

I ordered at 3:06 when the app ordering came online and I got 21-28 Nov shipping in Canada. Should have slept in and ordered. Might have even received it sooner.
Same here. Wasn't able to access the site until 3:13. When i did, gave me 21-28 November shipping. This is absurd.

uhhh then my preorder should get bumped up right...? still in the infamous 17-24 window even though a lot of IUP customers in that window got pushed up to tomorrow or Monday...

Remember all the, "No one is getting the X in 2017!" talk? People really bought into the hype.

No I don't remember that. Complete myth. Kuo said Apple would be able to sell 30m units by the end of the year. How is 30m "no one"? Seems like a lot of people to me. Ultimately we'll find out in January when Apple reports 1Q earnings. If today's earning report is any indication it should be a hoot.

After multiple attempts, the Apple Store website finally loaded for me around 12:10am the night pre-orders went live; still stuck with a November 17-24 delivery window. Hope I get bumped up soon.

I can’t believe it’s been ten years and we’re still tweaking out every time there’s a new iPhone. TEN. YEARS.

But that is exactly how production works. It's slow going and then, yes, something is figured out and full steam ahead!

I was referring to what people on forums like this one were saying. Prior to the 30 million report people were freaking out due to many other reports that claimed that there were production hold ups, severely limited supply, and only 10 thousand being produced a day. Lots of people bought into this hysteria.

Pre-ordered the 64gb version which delivers tomorrow, and now i'm realizing 64gb is not enough storage for this phone. I think I'll pre-order the 256gb now instead of waiting at the Apple store tomorrow. 3-4 weeks doesn't seem too long of a wait.

Oh, that. Well, sure MR has its fair share of panic pandas I'll give you that -- just look at some of the people freaking out all week that their launch day unit hadn't shipped before it was time for it to ship.
