Hopefully now this means living near a tax free state that I can just walk in and buy one.

Not that I wasn’t trying to pay taxes because I don’t mind I just don’t feel like ordering thru the app and there should be no more scalpers either.

A lot of those folks are gonna have a rude awakening when no one wants to pay 1500 for a 64GB x on Craigslist.

So clearly increasingly available due to lessened demand.
I want one, but the cost benefit is just not there.

The notch is irrelevant to me. But the phone is basically just another iPhone, which I love, but can’t justify the cost for this hardware.

I am certain others feel like me. If it was cheaper, yep, I’d buy.
If it was substantially a new experience, yep I’d buy.

But it does not offer enough to draw me in this time.

No home button? Why? That is a solution looking for a problem.
Face ID... that’s weird, and another solution looking for a problem.

Still, if it was cheaper, I’d do it.

Just not worth it. Bummer.
Underwhelmed when I played with it.

No doubt, the masses feel the same as me.
Great phone, but so is the one I have.

Nobodys wants to buy a $1200 iPhone X from the Apple Store seems like with the lukewarm demand.

That’s what it seems like to me also. I doubt it will be the best selling iPhone ever as well.

I haven’t seen one in the wild yet other than at the store or in videos.

Ordered November 18 from AT&T. Still in processing stage.

It seems ordering directly from Apple is quicker. My AT&T order placed on 11-16 will be delivered on Monday.

Aren’t anecdotes fun?

Scalpers still buying. I finally got mine when I raced to the store after an istocknow.com notification (for the fifth time!), and the queue of people waiting to complete their purchases was very scalper-y.

After a couple of weeks with the X I went back to my old 6+ to see how I feel about it. It feels antiquated. The bezel, the screen quality, the need for the button.

On paper the x is maybe just an expensive gadget but it really is a leap to the future. Of course not everyone is able / willing to afford it, and of course it will be cheaper in a year, but experiencing the future of mobile computing NOW is priceless.
At least to me it is.

So they can improve the delivery dates of the iPhone X after just one month, but it took them 6mo before the AirPods were readily available. Yeah, supply chain genius my ..... The demand simply isn't there.
AirPod likely wasn’t as high a priority. It’s an accessory. The new charging pad and the HomePod won’t be ready until next year.

Are you going to put your money where your mouth is and short Apple?

Full steam ahead to Xmas!

(The delayed launch turns out to be a masterstroke of marketing.)

Every other phone, laptop, and tablet that gets released is available day of release, while Apple's products are usually delayed. Yet, for some reason their delay doesn't appease your farcical ideology of how long the delay should be when the phone has been out for almost a month, so it must be a flop. smdh

All the scalpers stopped buying or whoever has been getting them in order to make a quick buck.
Also, all those OCD users with “oh my god my screen is too yellow, I’m gonna buy 5 of them to choose the best one” are finally slowing down as well haha

So there is no possibilities of productions rate being improved or anything like that? Nah..... guess not.

I still think price is a major factor outside of the US. Though good that you will be able just to pick one up from retail pre-xmas

As to the folks "waiting" for the unlocked iPhones - not clear on what you are waiting on. If you pay full price you are shipped an unlocked version. I purchased the Verizon version as it has both the GSM and CDMA bandwidths. I pop either an AT&T or Verixon Simm into it and I am good to go. The explanation I received from Apple is that all their phones are unlocked - the carrier locks them when you purchase via a subsidized financing arrangement.
It’s complicated, but Verizon’s discounts on phones are actually credited monthly over the life of a two-year payment plan. However, if you pay off the balance early or otherwise change the payment plan, you forfeit the remaining monthly credits. In my case, that’s $27/month over the course of the next year. This is how Verizon solves their retention problem in a world without two-year contracts. The only way around that is to leave the existing payment plan in place, and SIM-swap to an actual unlocked phone. Hence, the waiting game.

But but but... Shouldn't Apple be withholding supply to stimulate demand? You know, like they did for the 6+, because it would have been a flop otherwise?

But but but .... Cook is a supply chain genius .... ;)

Ordered a 256gb in silver from Apple on 11/24 and it’s scheduled to arrive tomorrow. I’m super excited because my original window was 12/8-12/15.
Same here...ordered it Thanksgiving morning at it’s now at the local UPS location scheduled for 12/1 delivery.

Very well said... exactly how I feel... maybe next year Apple

which is in line with recent :) I guess Apple is pushing for iPhone X orders online.

Very impressive or worrying. Wonder if its supply improving, demand declining, or both? Guess we'll find out with quarter results
My guess is the former. Word on the street is that the X, despite it's price and originally unpopular notch, is a hot item to get. Add to that the mostly overwhelmingly positive reviews (as well as feedback from happy owners) and the welcome news to Apple and their shareholders of the continually improving supply situation, and you've got a recipe for success.

If within the next two weeks at the latest, Apple can manage to provide plentiful in-store supply while also meeting carrier demand and also release the sought after sim-free model, this first quarter could very well turn out to be an unprecedented blockbuster just on the strength of iPhone sales alone, eclipsing even the insane demand for iPhone6 once it became readily available.

Either way, we'll find out around the 23rd of January, give or take.
