Here is a screen size comparison between the 8 Plus and the X. I can’t activate the X because it’s my daughter’s phone so this isn’t exactly the pic you are looking for, but it was helpful to me to see how ample the screen is on the X.

I got the X today and have had every single model before this, including the 8.

I'd agree with what a few of the others are saying....the screen is nice, but it doesn't blow anything away. If you're comparing it to a Galaxy device, you may be disappointed. Matching it up against my 8 didn't show much difference, other than size. I'd stress, it's not bad at all, it's very nice....just keep your expectations in check.

I also saw the yellowish tint this morning when I picked it up. It was literally the first thing that caught my eye about the device after the form factor. As the day has gone on, I think I've gotten use to it, though. No doubt in my mind it can probably be optimized with a software update, too. I've been keeping the true-tone on.

After using the X and owning the 8 Plus my verdict is that the X is somewhat better than the 8 Plus, but it's not overwhelmingly better.

The X has a thinner glass and more pop with the colors. As well it does not seem to suffer from the powdery/grainy look that oled phones seem to have. I found that the surface glass reflectivity was about the same on both phones.

The negatives are that it does have a bit of pentile blur around character edges, there is a blue shift and it is a weird shape for video playback and using Safari.

That said, it's probably the best Oled I have seen and I would take it over the Note 8.

Apple been using LCD for years after OLED phones came out. There is a reason for that, they make a hell of a good lcd screen. Heck they even advertise the current iPad Pro screen as the most advanced display on the planet.

I will wait for your opinion. I am upgrading from a 7 Plus and want to know how it compares! :)
Pics misrepresented what it looks like, so I didn’t bother uploading them. Here’s my opinion of the display after a day:

- Love the aspect ratio and larger size compared to my 8. Feels closer to an 8 Plus than an 8.
- The OLED is gorgeous. They did OLED right. Great colors and perfect blacks. A noticeable step up when comparing the two phones side by side. However, the 8’s screen was no slouch. It holds its own.
- The colorshifting is worse than any previous Retina display I’ve used. I’ve gotten used to it, but it was jarring upon first use. You need to be looking dead on, which is similar to low cost TN LCD panels. Very disappointing.
- Notch is not an issue for me in vertical usage, only in landscape. Even in landscape, media is not impacted by the notch unless you zoom.
- No “screen retention” (what people usually mean to say when they say burn-in)
- True Tone looks hideous. I will say no more.

My iPhone X had a lot of yellow tint to it and I was getting ready to return it but I read the other thread on the problem and followed their instructions to fix the problem.

To fix the problem, go to Settings, General, Accessibility, Display Accommodations, Color Filters and change the Hue until the colors look better.

It is nice to be able to fix the problem, but it is a shame that the default hue was so far off on my devices. I am still considering returning the phone as it does not offer much benefit for me (not for you) over my 6s and not sure if it justifies the cost. If there was a plus model I would have been more interested, but this phone feels more like the iPhone 5 to me.
