Are you not concerned about the lack of space when you record in 4k at 60fps? or is that not in your use case?
Some people like to see what the popular choice is. For me, threads like this don't help because I only know what color I like when i see a phone in person.
After having a good look at the 8's in the Apple store, I'll probably get a silver 64Gb. I normally get the space grey, but this time the front color is a non-issue, and the white actually looks better than the grey to me. The silver is white, and the space grey is more of a slate, dark grey. I was surprised, but the lack of metallic nuances (from the aluminum) actually changed it to a very dark, uniform, boring shade of grey. I would only get it if the delivery dates slide too far for the silver.

I’m really torn between black or silver... I do love the white back on the silver model of the iPhone 8 plus, but I’m not 100% sure on the X. Right now I have the silver 64 saved with pre approval, i wonder how the preorder will go and how easy to change it.
You sound like me with the back and forth....I personally think the silver will look better in a black leather case but its all personal preference. I am not one who likes the stealth/blacked out look as I like some contrast and think the stainless steel will look excellent.
Contrast does make sense now you mention it.
And I have a stainless watch, so it would match.

I’ve pretty much settled on Silver since day 1, it’s just the storage I’m still trying to decide. Is it really worth £150 more for all of that extra large storage that I most likely will never use? On the other hand, it might be worth it just for future-proofing and peace of mind. I currently have 87.6 GB filled on my 128 GB 6S, but under ‘recommendations’ I can save 21.71 GB by enabling ‘Optimise Photos’ and a further 14.2 GB by Offloading Unused Apps. So I’d have roughly 52 GB used storage with 12 left over for breathing room. But then there’s 4K 60fps, app sizes getting bigger, iOS updates and app updates that take a huge chunk over time... either it will be just about enough or will be too close to filling up the storage for comfort.
Do you think it will be hard to change the color if you've been pre-approved for a different one?
I'm going silver, as historically space grey has been a more popular color and I figure silver might ship quicker.

I keep going back and forth. I think I'm going silver because of the band, which looks pretty classy.

I very rarely take videos on my phone. Those that I have, combined with photos, only take up 10GB at the moment so I should be OK. If I do start chewing-up my free space I'll convince my wife she needs a new iPhone and get the 256GB for me.

The Space Grey just doesn’t have the hot look that Matte/Jet Black and past Space Greys had imo. But that poll has my self confidence in my decision shook.

Well, only 2 color choices are offered. Why not just flip a coin? I tend to agree with what you said about the case. I know someone who didn't particularly like the color of the iPhone (bought what was available at the time) so they chose a case with a color they liked. Hmm, so I can have that red phone after all . . .
