Looking forward to trying this iPhone, even if that notch screams of Jonny Ive design flaws...optimizing for how it looks not how it works. (Despite his claims)

Nowhere near how maturely Pixel XL 2 does, just random bubbles flying like a jellyfish since from iOS 7. Childish or Absurd?
It’s absurd especially since my HTC Inspire from 2011 had animated background wallpaper! That was 6 years ago. And it came with a bunch of different animated wallpaper. They mostly looked sorta crappy but some were really good for their time. Like the spinning galaxy stars and the crazy blue lights etc.

There are still 26 days to go before Apple officially launches iPhone X, but at least one person has already gotten their hands on one of the sought-after 5.8-inch devices, if a video shared on Reddit is anything to go by.

The short clip, embedded below, shows someone swiveling in their hand what looks like a silver glass-backed iPhone X with a new, previously unseen dynamic wallpaper on the lock screen.

As the handset is rotated, the padlock above the time visibly shudders as Face ID refuses to unlock, suggesting the person holding the phone is not the owner.

Speculation is rife among Redditors as to who the owner could be and how they ever got hold of an iPhone X so far ahead of the official launch next month.

According to the original poster, the video was uploaded from the San Jose area, California, making it likely that the clip was recorded by someone who knows an Apple employee with early access to the device. The iPhone X in the clip is also displaying an AT&T logo in the upper left corner, adding further weight to the suggestion this was recorded in the U.S.

For the rest of us, pre-orders for iPhone X begin on Friday, October 27, with the device's official launch date the following Friday, November 3.

I saw one in the wild 2 weeks ago. Looked so good!

Why haven’t they created more dynamic wallpapers? Why just bubbles. I mean they are basically just cinemagraphs.

Maybe I missed something, but wouldn't people like this (engineers/testers/or whatever) be a little more discreet in their usage in public? Especially in Silicon Valley / or anywhere near a tech hub where tech minded people would spot this a mile away?

I know that the iPhone is weeks away from release (if you are a lucky), but wouldn't people like this get in trouble?

Nope. Apple already unveiled it. Why would they get in trouble for using it now?

Because it has not been released officially yet. Yes, apple already revealed it, but figured these people testing would maybe do it not so right in the open.

It’s very pretty. With that big black camera bump against the white background it looks more reminiscent of a Panda than the Panda Pixel I’ve got on preorder. I mean that in an admiring way. I think people are going to have a lot of fun with this iPhone. At least I hope so.

Why, though?

It’s been acknowledged by several Apple execs that many/most of them, plus quite a few of the engineers and other employees, have been using the X as their daily driver for months. It’s been announced, review units are heading out soon, it’s all over the Apple Store sites and app. What would be the point of keeping it hidden at this point?

Fake dummy unit. Apple would never release a phone with a notch. Mark my words, by the time Nov 3rd comes around, Apple will have figured out how to get the camera system, Touch ID, and headphone jack all behind the screen. I also guarantee that they will reverse the camera bump so that the cameras actually go *inward* now.

The world is flat and man never walked on the moon. Yeah, right.

You should download and try Xcode v10 with it's new emulator which lets you play with a virtual iPhone X.
I've been working with it on Apps since the iPhone X announcement and I have to say I do actually like the notch. Didn't when I first saw it, on stage and on the emulator, but now I've had time to adapt apps to it I think the original iPhone format looks very dated and the notch is actually kinda cool.

Mark my words...
