I understand that...but can it be a Verizon phone on Verizon service. I know that the reverse will not work.

At least we now know it's not just us! Sounds like they're running through crates of one particular type at a time...and we weren't the first ones sent out.
It would be nice if Xfinity sent actual expectations though..."expect to have all phones shipped by _____". The "shipping soon" thing is really irritating.

It says you can unlock it while on a device plan, but still responsible for making all payments.
Oh wow yeah totally misread it. That's pretty crazy, huh? Don't most companies make you pay it off before they'll unlock it?
Preordered SG 256GB 30 minutes after it opened, got charged this morning, still no email but Fedex Delivery Manager is showing a package from Comcast headed my way overnight from Fort Worth, TX. Slated to arrive tomorrow.

Might be, but cleanest installation for most homes.
ATT and Google fiber force using corporate equipment, and try to wedge their way into access to your home network. Comcast allows individually managed modem and easily firewalled self controlled home network.
Yea, I am coming from ATT and had to pay off my 7+ before I could unlock it. Another awesome benefit to Xfinity Mobile!

So glad you said this because I pre-ordered at the same exact time as you with the same exact phone lol. I just checked my fedex delivery manager and it says the same thing - Overnight from Forth Worth, TX and expected delivery tomorrow. No shipping email yet, but this is all I needed! Now I can rest easy and look forward to tomorrow! Thanks again.
Same here, leaving AT&T, just paid off my 7+, gonna get it unlocked today then list it tomorrow when my new baby arrives.

Just an update, my SG256gb shipped out from Fort Worth today! Getting delivered tomorrow, now I just have to make sure hubby answers the door our doorbell broken, we don’t always hear the door
