I believe it. Although I have no intention of getting rid of my 6s plus, if for some reason I had to get a new iPhone the Xr is most likely the model I would get. It more than meets my modest needs.
am I reading this correctly? It has a lower screen resolution than my ancient iPhone 6?
Makes sense that the iPhone without the flagship price doesn’t have all the flagship features... you don’t get what you don’t pay for.Indeed. Instead of the 5C(heap) model, this is the iPhone XR(educed feature set) model.
$650 was the flagship price 2 years ago... It’s gone up $350 in 2 years for the base flagship model. I guess people are OK with this change though.Makes sense that the iPhone without the flagship price doesn’t have all the flagship features... you don’t get what you don’t pay for.
It was? The plus models were more. Also was that still with the pathetic 16gb or was it almost pathetic 32gb storage ? In any case the phones come base with 2x storage as well. So there are more features etc in there. I remember paying for my 6 plus 64 gb I guess $850?$650 was the flagship price 2 years ago... It’s gone up $350 in 2 years for the base flagship model. Some are, some aren’t. But that $650 flagship phone from 2 years ago is only $450 today, and it’s just as good a phone now as it was then. That’s a great deal, and a viable choice for many. Just because there’s something newer/faster/better now available doesn’t subtract from the (once flagship) features of the iPhone 7.$650 was the flagship price 2 years ago... Like the iPhone 4s and 5s eand 6s and 5c, the new phones are spelled “iPhone Xs” and “iPhone Xr” so cut it out.

No, it’s not. You’re wrong.Just head to the Apple Store app, or the Apple site, and it’s laid out there for you.
Apple's lower-spec iPhone XR features an edge-to-edge "Liquid Retina" LCD
I’m in the same boat. The ol 7 plus is still working fineI dont care if that is 720 or 1080 or whatever as long as I feel comfortable with using it and dont see pixels. Thats why I need to see reviews before buying. If the reviews will be negative I will just use my 7 plus another year. If i could only get the oleophobic coating back...;(
Ohhhhhh, I get it. I said “RAM” when I meant storage, and you ran with it. Okay. The iPhone XS/XS Max have twice the storage as the XR.No, it’s not. You’re wrong.
I was genuinely curious whether something was known about the RAM that I wasn’t aware of.Ohhhhhh, I get it. I said “RAM” when I meant storage, and you ran with it. Okay. The iPhone XS/XS Max have twice the storage as the XR.
Turns out benchmarking has indicated 4GB RAM in the XS/Max and 3GB RAM in the XR. Not confirmed by Apple or iFixIt, natch, but there it is.
People like the colors. The XR would sell like hotcakes.
Many of the colors are bad just like 5C was. Coral blue and yellow should be more intense instead of pale, pastel style ones. Product RED is gorgeous as usual, black and white are neutral
Ditto. Starting to think this could be the slow unwinding of my tech relationship with Apple. I’m waiting to see what Google offers in the pixel line this year and will go from there.
Apple may be greedy, but at least they respect people's privacy and don't mine every single email in your inbox or every notification on your phone for data they can sell to advertisers.
If you're okay with having no privacy then go ahead and buy a Google phone. Just know that you're paying more than the actual price tag.And this entire time, I thought everything on the internet was private.
