Nice but too big. It’s almost as big as the current plus. I have an iPhone 8 because it is the smallest current hardware phone they sell. This might force me to get the x but that’s too much money for a phone.

Looks cheaper than a $50 Huawei.
Wrong. Xr looks like a deco piece of POP ART. It's almost as if the XR design team decided to think different. Steve would have approved.

EDIT: Full disclosure I will be buying the XS, but why oh why can't we get a colorful flagship? The gold is pretty but looks like every other smartphone people carry around. The XR is different, true to Apple's roots, in the best way possible.

The lowest-end XR (!!) costs 1020 USD here. No way I am buying that as long as my 5S works… Seems I'll rather invest in replacement battery (AGAIN!) than buy this. How sad. I had hard time to justify the MBP (2540 EUR), however, that devices allows me to make some money. The iPhone does not (well, partially, but I can work with Simulator & physical 5S for now). :(

My 5S is the highest-end 2013 iPhone. It cost the same money (~1000 USD). Now I can only buy a "budget" device for this amount of money. Awful.

Removed 3D Touch in a $750 phone? Apple, if you're going to bend your customers over at least buy them flowers first.

Most poorly implemented feature by Apple on the iPhone. Nothing like an invisible interface with no visual cues to indicate it's available. On tech challenged iphone users its the first thing I turn off as the damn thing causes so much confusion (users often push very hard on their iphone screens, thus directing them into the hidden 3d touch interface which is confusing).

Here's hoping its the start to them ditching the stupid thing.

The display in this new iPhone is worse than the 8 Plus. No 1080p display.

Why dont you see it in real life before you judge? Day to day use you might not even care...

So many size obsessives on these forums. Everyone says it's 0.2" or 0.5" or 1" too big or small. No wonder apple ignores them and just says here buy or dont.

While enthusiasts who read online tech blogs and rumor sites may mourn the absence of 3D Touch, most general consumers didn’t even know it existed in the first place. That or they hated how difficult it made deleting/moving apps. ;)

My guess is none of next year’s models will have 3D Touch.

Well said, exactly. That 3d touch has been horrific for non technical users (i even dislike it for what you just wrote and other examples where it gunks up the interface)

The iPhone XR is $1,029 Canadian. I wouldn't exactly call that affordable. I have a 6S so I'm still deciding whether or not to upgrade.

The best sized pone they made was the iPhone 4. While my older eyes appreciate the larger screen of the 8 it is just very bulky to keep in my pocket. But you are right, I will probably eventually buy it, but I won't like it as much as I did the 4. The os looked better back then too.

How are the camera specs? Does it shoot 4K 60 fps?

Also, how will will 3D-touch sub menus work without 3D touch?

Phil mentioned Haptic Touch. I wonder what that is. Someone on Twitter said it felt the same as 3D Touch but I’m not sure what they all tried.

EDIT: in one of the hands on videos someone hard pressed on an app icon and nothing happened. It just baffles me why Apple would remove that feature especially considering they didn’t remove it from the XS models.
