I just held the white and red XR in my hand in the store, with the XS in the other. I must say that I think the XR looks better than the XS. The aluminium makes it feel lighter, and somewhat fresher. Younger.

Compared to the XR, I think the XS feels heavy, bloated, outdated. It’s the phone my father would buy, while the XR is the one young people would buy. And I’m young at heart, so... :)

Move over, XS. You look like grandpa.

Just felt the opposite holding Xr.
Xr screen is surprisingly good but the phone feels heavy.
One size doesn't fit all but X/Xs probably has the best combination of screen, size and weight

Exactly. that's why I'm getting one for my 13YR daughter. She loves the Candy Crush colors! Screen quality and Camera quality no so important to her.

You’re not the first one I heard say this. However, the Xr is actually heavier according to specs. Maybe it’s how the weight is distributed for each phone. Anyway, I can’t wait to goto the store later today and finally hold and Xr in person to check it out!

The comments about weight are all over the place. Some reviewers say its too heavy, others say its too light. Another reviewer said all the weight was in the top, which made it feel off balance, and other reviewers claim it's perfectly balanced.

It has been amusing reading the comments now that the Xr has been reviewed and in the wild. I have come to notice that numerous:
- who are getting the Xr for whatever reason (price, pwm sensitive, size) find the bezels to be fine, the screen to be great, and in some cases suggest it is the best choice of the new phones
-who got the X, Xs, Max find the bezels to be 'atrociously big', the screen to be 'vastly inferior', and the Xr to definitively be the non-tech-lover device to buy

Now notice I said numerous, not all. There are plenty of people who don't hyperbole based on their own purchases and self justification. I don't really have a dog in the fight as I have held off on following through on any upgrade this year. But the one thing that jumps out at me are the comments on the bezels. Sure, they are not as narrow as on the OLED series. But seriously, compared to what Apple gave everyone for 9 generations prior to the X, this is what is drawing the most angst? The forehead and chin are gone. The notch is here to stay for a while and is on all of the new Apple phones so that is an 'accept, don't upgrade, change platforms' solution.

Sometimes I think people just complain in order to make themselves feel better about the alternate phone they chose to buy. There is a lot of insecurity amongst us....based on a choice of tech..

Just got mine - SO excited! Initial impression - LOVE the size, and the screen looks like it’ll be great! I’m headed to my daughter’s to use her much faster internet to back up my 8+ and set this booger up!

My Loopy case is due to arrive today also, so I’m anxious to see just how my reachability will compare with my 8+ once I have the case on. I think I’m gonna be pleased.

Honestly, getting it in black does kinda help hide the bezels. When you're looking at the screen, the sides kinda don't stand out at all.

Yeah cause looking at the other colors it makes it looks like there a bumper on the device.

Just setting up my wife’s XR that came in yesterday. I have to say I’m very impressed. Feels a bit on the thicker size but the overall size of the phone and the screen feels excellent. Get that Plus/Max UI real estate but in a bit of a tighter package. Bezels bigger, but you quickly forget / don’t notice them.

As someone who absolutely loves the stainless steel build and OLED screen, I’m actually very tempted by the XR (main reasons being bigger screen and colourful options).
