You're still conflating the limited availability of multiple device size factors

Probably no different than you make anecotal assumptions that you know those around you that prefer smaller iPhones that doesn’t change what the majority prefers and has preferred for years in larger displays, but it doesn’t change the fact that we as consumers are only left with certain options from phone manufacturers that are only utilizing 5.5 inch displays and above now.

Fair enough, only though this is skewing my original post when read out of context. I'm not advocating to go back to 3.5", far from it. The 4.7" update was indeed a great (not to mention popular) shift, partly also because it's still comfortable to use one-handed.

I presume that if this form factor were to be retained (or even better, the SE factor IMHO) and turned full-screen it would have been MASSIVELY popular.

If they wait all the way until 2020 for a redesign, I'm curious to see how Cook will defend or spin the even worse declining sales on the following quarterly calls.

Right now, if they make a SE sized, truly all-screen flagship, it will drive a supercycle that will put the 6 to shame. THAT is the sweet spot for many. Literally everybody I know is unhappy with how large smartphones have become.

I'm with you, I want a modern SE sized phone with a full-screen display and dual sim capability. I don't really care about double or triple cameras or OLEDS or even the latest processor.

However, I don't think it will be a super cycle. I think it will sell well and people will buy it in droves but I still believe the X sized phone will sell the most.
