Interacting with notification were almost the only thing i used 3d-touch for, i were really disappointed to see that there were no hepatic touch support for this when it could have easily been.
I just hope that apple fix this in a upcoming release.
That’s right, they will likey wait until iOS 13 and use this update to create marketing hype where they try to convince us all that ‘haptic touch is now bigger and better than ever, and just look how good we are bringing you these amazing new features that youre gonna love.......or have been using for years on the iPad but be greatful that we’ve allowed you to use it on your iPhones.......’
Good one apple, it’s great your putting your loyal users spending £750+ (on one of your budget devices) productivity first
How enticing is just that one, specific feature? How many people outside of this message thread are even aware of it?
I would totally believe that Apple would hold back a feature for that purpose in certain circumstances, but it doesn’t seem to make sense here. Why not hold it back throughout the UI?
Here’s my attempt at an alternate explanation: Apple has determined that long-press on lockscreen is somehow more prone to accidental keypress (“butt dial”) than 3D Touch, and they held it back to avoid those actions being triggered without the user’s intention. This wouldn’t apply to iPad, since it’s sitting on the table.
