I ordered mine (along with an Apple Watch) right when orders went live last night. I received email confirmation on the watch right away (it was a separate order from the phone), but I have not received email confirming the iPhone purchase. I did get a loan confirmation from Citizens One today, but nothing from Apple. If I check my orders in the Apple Store app, it shows that I did order an iPhone XS, but I'm wondering why I haven't received an email from Apple. Should I be concerned?

I set an alarm for 11:58. Got into the store and finished my order (IUP) at 12:04. Delivery date estimated Sept 28 - Oct 5...

That was the easiest experience I’ve ever had ordering an iPhone on launch day. In at 00:02, checked out by 00:03.
Same here. On the Apple store app on my phone, I had my phone done in less than a minute and my wife’s phone was just as fast but her email was delayed. I was waiting for that second email and forgot to buy the series 4 Apple Watch in time to get the 9/21 delivery.
I am kicking myself for wasting time on waiting for the second confirmation email and not going to order the Apple Watch.

Near perfect credit, zero debt, plenty of income, zero dings on credit - denied for the Apple Upgrade Program. :/

$1959 (including $380 taxes) doesn’t quite appeal me - so I guess the top of the line model is out of question for now. Not blaming Apple for the pricing, 512GB is pretty amazing on a phone. But that tax! No thanks.
Amazing iPhone but getting at price of nice iMac

Tmobile went live 10 mins early :) love it!

AT&T about 11:57. Time stamp on my order confirmation email 11:59:17.

Had three Maxs ordered and confirmed by 12:08.

Easiest I remember. More phones? Less demand? Who cares. I’m just looking forward to getting a bigger phone in my big hands again. Last year’s X never felt right.

Preordered thru Verizon; confirmation email at 7:32 am. Xs Max 256GB in Gold. Delivery date says 9/21. :)
I preorderd thru Verizon 2 years ago (7plus) at about 9:00 am and still got my phone launch day so I didn't bother to get up at the a$$ crack of dawn this year either lol.

AAPL will be charging 2 grand for a phone within 5 years. As a shareholder, I thank you.
And so will Samsung...

This is the world we live in now. An you know what, it's worth it.

Would you rather have $1k or your iPhone? Shoot, you can go out to dinner with a few friends and spend $500 in a night.

No. Not yet. I got them right and same as you.

Can anyone here tell me where is the dual sim model that Apple mentioned? I see the unlocked Sim free variant but not the Dual Sim version?

The real story in these products isnt the features - they are just refinements, because the X was released a year early. The camera isnt really all that different, nor the screen - and honestly...."I've fallen and I cant get up mode", is one of the sorriest product attempted pitches I've ever seen in a consumer device.

However, if the specs on the A12 are correct, there will be a step change in what the user experiences as battery life for these devices. And that will make these things much more useful.

I forgot about the preorder until about 2 hours after it started. Went on, got a 64g XsMax for 21 pickup at the aspen grove store in Colorado. I usually get larger but noticed I’m only using 23.3 of my 7+ 256......

I don't know where you eat dinner but most regular people don't eat dinner there.
Then tally up how much you spend on dinner, drinks, movies in a couple months. We pay a lot per hour for "entertainment" but we use our phones constantly. It's very little money on a per use basis.

If you are talking about the dual physical sim tray version, my understanding from the keynote is that it will only be offered in China.

Other than China, all the Xs/Xs Max versions are dual sim but one is an eSim. From the specs page https://www.apple.com/iphone-xs/specs/:

Dual SIM (nano-SIM and eSIM)

I don't know yet what all carriers support this.

Edit: in the US, AT&T, Verizon and T-Mobile will all support eSim. See:

I upgraded from 8+ to Gold XS Max. Wondering if I should've gotten the black. Won't come till Sept 28th.
Could always try stores on launch day and till get yours. Can also look at all the colors. Colors don’t matter anymore since the face is the same and if will be in case most of the time.
