I suspect that these "moved" delivery days are Apple doing Apple marketing when it's best. The need for a phablet was tried, tested and debunked years ago by Samsung.

A for marketing effort though.

This was my best pre-order ever :) I signed up for pre-approval for the Apple Loan program the day before, came back at 12AM, a few minutes later after a couple clicks, it all went through and got my confirmation email 10 minutes later. It said I get it on Friday, so here's hoping. In the past I have always had problems and never been so lucky. I went for the XS 64GB Silver, Verizon. I always had the plus models, but the last X got me used to a smaller form factor and I think I am sticking with it lol.

Thanks to another MacRumors typo - saying preorders in Belgium start at 9am CEST and not CET - have missed getting an XS 64GB on launch day.... Now a bit put off :(

Nabbed the 64GB XS in space gray this AM. Upgrading from a 5S so I'm going to be in for a bit of shock when it comes to the performance and new technology. Looking forward to it!

You notice that all their screen wallpaper deliberately hide the notch that we are suppose to embrace.
I’d rather a notch then ugly bezels.

Holy crap. The shock is going to be unreal. Get ready!

Got my Silver 64GB XS-MAX. Wow Easiest iPhone Pre-order ever!

EDIT: 12:06am Just got the email. Delivery on 9/21. Still amazed how smooth that was. Good luck all!

Apple Store was up by 3:04 AM EDT. I ordered Xs Max @3:08 AM EDT. and Estimated Delivery showing as 9/21. Really smooth process when u buy from Apple Store App. Even after I bought the phone, the web site was still showing "ALMOST THERE...finishing up few things..."

$1959 (including $380 taxes) doesn’t quite appeal me - so I guess the top of the line model is out of question for now. Not blaming Apple for the pricing, 512GB is pretty amazing on a phone. But that tax! No thanks.

Apple is now accepting pre-orders for the new iPhone XS and XS Max models through its online storefront and through the Apple Store app.

Available in 5.8 and 6.5-inch screen sizes, the iPhone XS and XS Max feature super sharp edge-to-edge OLED displays with support for Dolby Vision, HDR 10, and Wide Color.

Design wise, the new smartphones look like the iPhone X with stainless steel frames and glass bodies, but there's a new gold color option, improved IP68 waterproofing, and the internals have been upgraded. The new iPhones are equipped with the A12, which is faster and more efficient than the A11.

Face ID unlocking is faster than before, and the dual-lens camera system has been upgraded with a bigger sensor for sharper, crisper photos in low light, plus there's a new Smart HDR feature that brings out more detail in images and a new Depth Control option that allows for adjustable depth of field.

Pre-orders are available in first wave launch countries including Australia, Austria, Belgium, Canada, China, Denmark, Finland, France, Germany, Guernsey, Hong Kong, Ireland, Isle of Man, Italy, Japan, Jersey, Luxembourg, Mexico, Netherlands, New Zealand, Norway, Portugal, Puerto Rico, Saudi Arabia, Singapore, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland, Taiwan, the UAE, UK, US and US Virgin Islands.

All of the major U.S. carriers -- Verizon, AT&T, Sprint, and T-Mobile -- are accepting pre-orders for the new devices, as are many other carriers around the world. Major online retailers including Best Buy and Target are also accepting pre-orders starting today.

In the United States, customers can purchase iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max models from any of the four major carriers using Apple's site, or choose a SIM-free version. That SIM-free models are available suggests supplies are plentiful, but it's still always a good idea to place orders early.

Customers who successfully place an order for launch day delivery can expect to begin receiving their devices starting on Friday, September 21, the official launch date for the iPhone XS and XS Max.

Kudos to Apple to make pre-ordering process easiest than ever and make “sim free” available at the launch. Such a world class customer service!! Got XsMax 512 GB sim free with 9/21 delivery date painlessly. Sim free is the best one.

Just woke up and SIM Free is still showing as delivering on launch day for the XS. I decided to stick with the 8 Plus for another year but I would have been a little annoyed if I had stayed up all night only to see the demand not there and I could order easily hours later. #firstworldproblems

I'll be curious to see how the pre-order demand will be for the XR with the cheaper price and a lot of the same features as the more expensive phone.

Apple is driving me crazy.. The order that I was able to get in 5 min after their app started working 12:06am pst still shows 3-4 weeks oct 5 yet I go into the store app and shipping times are 1-2 weeks. I hope that shipping date on mine changes...

A phone for the price of a MacBook Pro is painless? Ok...

Usually a combination of your net worth and or what you are using the iPhone for. A single person with no debt making $120k a year sitting on a train for an hour a day then the maxed version might be a bargain. A college student with a negative net worth who uses their phone for Instagram maybe not some much.
