It's a matter of perspective. There are over 8 million taxpayers in the US with an AGI over 500k. This is barely a day's income for them.
Oh come on, that's truly repulsive what you've just written. There's also millions of people who can't afford to eat along with 65 million people who are displaced through war or climate change. The world is in such a disgusting mess simply through greed! And Apple is promoting greed more than any other company these days.

Keep up the good fight fellas. I will see you at dividend time. I can’t keep up with the rising prices. At this rate this phone will be $1800 in 2 years time. I will keep the X until it breaks.

All true, so what is your fix? Free iPhones for everybody? I'd vote for that ;)

Thanks to their dumb, rich parents.
Actually it’s the opposite in many cases. It’s not always dumb rich people but dumb poor people who have a lot of this obnoxiously priced stuff. You’d be surprised the amount of rich people you encounter every day that just live a modest life and appear average. The people who flaunt it usually have 10 credit cards, a second mortgage and an overdrafted account ever other week just to look cool or live vicariously through their children.

I already got the Apple upgrade program pre-approved. iPhone XSM 512 SPACE BLACK. It will be $68 a month with Applec care included.
Very excited! I just wish they upgraded the slow motion to a higher frame rate like the Samsung. It still is 240fps max at 1080.

Hooray! Now we can keep "winning" any market share arguments with "...but who has the most profitable phone" for another year. Thank you so much Apple. We fans appreciate knowing we can always play THAT card to settle any debate.

Here's hoping for $1799 next year!

And hoping Apple finance will stretch out the payment plan so we can keep spinning how little it is monthly, when spread over maybe 48-72 months of payments.

All ;)
it's right now 2000K in Europe. They are just openly sh***ing on users' heads. Greed, ignorance, almost no innovation and greed agan - this is today's Apple.

High price, lack of new features, I don’t think it matters. I really think Apple could keep the next iPhone exactly the same and just add a nice new color and millions of people would throw their money at them. There’s a type of people that are just on automatic pilot.

I go by payment price. It is $15 more a month for the 256GB. Not sure if I am willing to drop down to 64GB to save $5.

The regular 10 is a little small for my 51 year old eyes. :(

Right?

If a car manufacturer (say Toyota) comes out with a brand new high end Land-cruiser for $90,000, do all the Camry purchasers start screaming “Screw You Toyota! I can buy a Nissan Pathfinder for cheaper! This is more expensive than my house ... etc.

Because phones are a constitutional right and should be dolled out free of charge to whoever wants one?

Apple is a for-profit business. What they charge is based on how many they can produce and how many people will buy at that price.

If either supply goes down or demand goes up, then the price goes up. This is basic economics that every high school kid knows.
?

Almost the same price here in Canada. I love how Apple will do the USD-CAD exchange, and then just add like $100 on top.

Except that the mark up we have to swallow down here in Oz, is way way beyond the exchange rate of $US to $AU. It's cheaper to fly to the US, buy a phone there than buy it here.

I always bought high end phones every year, until last year.

To me it’s amazing that the top tier iPhone is twice the price it used to be. A lot of components have actually gone down in price...

I guess Apple has gotten tired of taking my money. Three years between phones is sane for most of the world, including me-I can’t spend more on a phone than a 55” OLEDTV. Thanks for talking sense into me, Phil Schiller!

It seems to be about the same as us... $1449 USD = $1882 CAD. It's $1999 here, plus 13% tax in my province, making it $2260.

$2369 AUD is about $1698 USD, minus 10% sales tax is about $1543, which sounds like less than a $100 USD markup. Not that bad consider how geographically isolated Australia is.

Except that the mark up we have to swallow down here in Oz, is way way beyond the exchange rate of $US to $AU. It's cheaper to fly to the US, buy a phone there than buy it here.

Consequence of Tim Cook's Apple. Steve would charge a premium but ultimately wanted the product in as many hands as possible, which is why there were often price drops across product lines.

Tim on the other hand only cares about the efficiency of the bottom line, fleecing the supply chain and customers.

Steve was good for consumers, Tim is good for stockholders.

I second that!

It seems like Apple makes the mobile phone a more than essential in daily life.

They want you to budget it like bare necessities such as clothes, food and ride, it’s a top level modern human life accesory.

I mean, look at that!! WTF?? Last time, I bought the X, sold it three months later as I realised it wasn’t worth its money. I even bought a new 7 plus (not the 8!) and I am a gadget geek that used to have all the latest. I guess my common sense rehab’ed myself out of it?
Apple, you are insulting my intellect!!
