I think until iOS 12.2 will be released, we have no solved problem.

I also have this problem. I’m fed up with waiting so I’m calling Apple support for a replacement just to see what happens with a new one.
It’s a shame because this particular XS 256 (5.8) has ZERO blue shift off axis and I’ve spent the time putting a dBrand skin on it but I paid $1,200 after taxes for this phone, my 7 Plus should not be a better experience.

Edit - Another thing I’ve noticed trying out display XS’s is that the Max version seems to not have this problem to the same the degree as the 5.8inch. Maybe because it takes a bit more umph to push the extra pixels? Hell I don’t know. I’m just disappointed, extremely disappointed.

I haven’t updated. I’m holding on 12.1 for now so waiting on someone to report on 12.1.2

I have a feeling that it’s not solved the problem though. The Beta’s didn’t.

My iphone crashed ramdomly on the home screen. It was stuttering, flashing kind of thing.
All my calls keep dropping out as well. Took it to apple and they said it is while wifi calling is on.

Apple is releasing the first iOS 12.1.3 developer beta

who can check, that version fixed stutters?

With all the polishing of iOS 12 and testing by developers and public beta testers I can only say that iOS 12 leaves a lot to be desired.
Too many problems, glitches etc

Ios 12 is one of the best releases imo, since iOS 5. It wasn’t perfect at release but it got very good very fast.

Are still there .. I already regret that I spent 1200 £ on Xs max ..
After testing the last hours: I think it’s better. Didn’t see any stutter when touching the back arrow. But minimizing apps is still stuttering after idle time...
I wish the had returned the phone but i saw that issue too late. Apple Support in Apple Store is telling me they acknowledge the bug but since so many (or every) XS has it, it’s a software thing and they can’t do anything but advise me to wait. It’s such a shame, apple!

on Apple forum, people say that stutters are still there with beta 3
Can you please confirm ?
Its better, but not gone completely:(

Yes, I must sadly admit that it was an illusion. XS still laggy and stuttering like a hex desire from 2009. This is my by far worst Experience in over 10 years of apple iPhones. Unbelievably lazy People in Cupertino!

It’s stuttering in full effect. Hate my iPhone XS. Bad bad UX and brand experience!

If it’s not fixed next week, I’m returning it and sticking to my X. $1,000 for an upgrade shouldn’t be giving me a lesser performance. The camera and speakers sure are nice, but I was never once dissatisfied with my X.
X was the best experience. No problems at all. XS is so disappointing. Simply a downgrade in summary.

Sooo , it’s becoming worse that is the problem , they already slowed down my Xs max with 12.1 , now with 12.1.3 they slowed my Xs max again . I can see only stutters , lags , animation glitches ..what is happening with developers? Apple is blind ? I was paying for software but now I’m paying for what ? Everything is a mess , this including my my MacBook Pro 2017 ..

I have created a page on Facebook, because now pretty much all my comments on Apple forum are removed. I even got a warning. They are trying to cover this up. We paid top cash for “the best iPhone ever”, but the experience is similar to an entry level device.
You can post there anything you like regarding this issue.
