My new 1Gb 2nd Gen Shuffle (which I ordered Sept 13 and which shipped on 10/29 from China) has arrived!!! I stuck 235 songs on it and there's some room left over in case I want to use that for disk storage.

It has WONDERFUL sound quality. It also looks terminally cute sitting in its little dock on top of my microwave out in the kitchen. I plugged it into a USB adapter to top off its charge.

This thing is going to sell and sell and sell in numbers that even Apple probably never imagined. The price is perfect. Apple is so right on the mark when it comes to design and functionality. To have nice slider switches (on/off and shuffle/play-in-order) on something so tiny is wonderful.

Did I leave any compliments out?? If so, it was inadvertent! I named mine TrakSnak. I was going to give it as a gift but as soon as I saw it through the plastic boxing, I knew the gift was becoming a backorder... or several backorders...

What Does "The Aluminium Sheet Didn't Fit Snugly At All" Mean?

I got mine this morning too but am sending it back. The aluminium sheet didn't fit snugly at all and it looked a bit crap. Normally I'm not all that fussed about things like that 'cause it'll get scratched up pretty quickly anyway but in this case I had to do something about it... The bad thing is that it's going to take up to two weeks to get the replacement 🙁

I don't understand what you mean. Would you mind rephrasing that please? What "sheet" didn't fit snugly mean? You mean the spring in the clip was loose not strong enough?

Apple Said New Shuffle Would Ship With Old Headphones Right After Jobs' Intro

There must have been some mis-information floating around the Apple Stores because that question was asked and answered immediately after the Steve Jobs presentation and they definitely said it would NOT ship with the new headphones and that you would have to buy them separately from the online-store.

It makes sense because the new headphones are obviously much more expensive and if they were included it would make the new Shuffle a gift instead of a profit center. 🙂
