Cool Agathon! When did you order yours (I am presuming from apple.ca)? And if so, where are you located?

Thanks!

I wish I could order my iPod shuffle. I know I'll use it a lot cause I like to exercise. I don't need a screen if I'm exercising... I can't wait to order it, once I get the money... :)

Still waiting for them to come to my local reseller. At least I don't have to wait until July to get it though.

my 20GB is currently with apple for having no where near it's '12-hour' battery charge capacity (about 6-hrs right from the start). I might be tempted to think it was my PB but I almost only charge my 20GB through the mains charger.

I just got my 4G back. Actually, it wasn't mine as they sent me a completely new replacement. I thought this was nice given how trashed and scratched mine already was. I'm waiting for one of those silicon guards before I use this one.

Does Apple or any other iPod vendor replace iPods with bad batteries? I have had my iPod since they came out. Its a 1st generation 5 gig iPod. Maybe it will be a collectors item one day, but the battery doesnt last very long. I can charge it, but by the next morning, its dead again.

The day of the keynote (the 11th IIRC). It arrived on Wednesday, but the courier messed up the delivery (I was home, but he didn't bother ringing the doorbell - Grrr).

I'm in Toronto.

CPUsed don't have any yet. That was where I went to get another one for my wife.

I've managed to drain the battery already. I don't know if the fact I was using big headphones accounts for that.

FYI, I was VERY surprised that I got my 1GB Shuffle on February 10, 2005 from FUTURESHOP! They must have received a small shipment, and were able to send them out to the earlier pre-orders!! WOOHOO!!

This thing is SMALL! It's literally flatter than a package of FRISK breath mints. Sounds GREAT, decent bass and good fidelity. The shuffle feature is Awesome. I'm hearing songs that I haven't heard in ages, or songs that I didnt even know I had!

I've got it hooked up to the stereo in my car, and it sounds amazing.

My only gripe is the slider at the back. I'm sure the next version of the shuffle will have to have a groove or something on that slider for easier grip.

CANADIAN RELEASE PUSHED BACK TO
MARCH 7, 2005!!!!!

I just checked the Futureshop website (where I preordered mine) and the Best Buy websites. Both have changed their release dates to Mar. 7, 2005.

1G in NZ?

Has anyone in NZ got a 1G ipod shuffle yet? I ordered one ages ago and they were meant to arrive at the start of Feb but still no word. And a question for those of you in America I have a friend coming through LA on the 25th Feb and am considering cancelling my order for the 1G ipod shuffle here and just getting him to pick me one up when hes in LA. What are stocks like there in the apple stores?

What do you mean 50% markup? I tried finding anything 512MB at futureshop.ca, and a 512MB Kingston USB memory stick is 129$CAN (same as the 512MB iPod shuffle)!

So, the iPod shuffle is like getting a name brand of a USB stick, but you get the iPod as an added bonus (for the exact same price).

Yeah, sure, RCA does have small players with an LCD display. But at 129$CAN you only have 128MB in it...

As for the Apple stock.... it dropped 6-8% ?!

Futureshop is grossly overpriced when it comes to computers and computer accessories.
Tigerdirect sells 1gb Lexar sticks for as little as $107(CDN). This is a moot point for me however, as I am in the market for a great mp3 player AND a usb data stick. :)

On a side note, can anyone who has a shuffle tell me if you're able to seek through tracks with it? The spec readout on the FS site says no, but c'mon.. Even the most basic CD players have a seek option. Can anyone confirm this?

I just bought my 512mb Shuffle today from Bestbuy.

I LOVE this thing. When it first came out I didn't think that highly of it. But, I came to, and jumped for it anyway. Its only $99. Thats less than a trip to WalMart! You can't go wrong.
I'm using it more than my 3G now.
