HOLY!! Got shipping confirmation of Shuffle yesterday, when I got home
today it was here already! I had standard shipping! WooHooo!!!

Need some shipping info.

Has anyone in Canada recieved a 1Gb iPod Shuffle yet via Apple's online store?

I ordered mine Jan 15th. I phoned apple to change some information with regards method of payment. The girl at Apple told me it looked like it was shipping the first week of Feb. I now have a new ship on or before date on their order status site that says Feb 23rd. Before it was Feb. 3rd. I thought I maybe I was wrong but I checked their original order confirmation and it said Feb. 3rd.

I got my 1GB Shuffle today. Cooler than I thought it would be. The autofill feature of the playlist is a good idea!

I was also surprised to see that my shuffle came with two Apple stickers...I don't remember by 3G coming with any. Maybe I just forgot....

iPods did not come with apple stickers until the 4g ones--i was surprised as well...

Great sound

Arrived three days ago. Already had the Nike sports ear phones...much better than the white ones included...tension is needed to hold 'em in place. Shuffle mode is cool.

One glitch on start up. During registration, software wants serial number. Well, it is printed in tiny characters on the iPod. It was already plugged in. Had to remove it and get out electron microscope, but then an error occured, spoiling registration because I hadn't ejected the device.

Then iTunes wouldn't recognize device, etc. etc. Chat agent didn't know what to do, referred me to "phone support" without providing phone number.

Finally a re-boot got it straightened out.

Lesson: Get magnifying glass and write down serial number BEFORE registering.

Oh! Now you tell me...

I looked everywhere BUT there!

At least I had beer at the time. Beer plus ignorance may make one ineffective, even stupid, but at least it qualifies you for a job in the Bush Administration.

The first charge cycle of my shuffle went smoothly and everything worked perfectly until I had to recharge. Although I was able to upload new songs and it seems to have at least partially charged, the orange/amber light on the front never turned to green, even when left in my PB overnight. When I disconnect it from the PB it plays and the battery light on the back is green but is this a sign that the battery is already losing it's capacity?

Apple suggested I try charging it in another computer but the PC at school is giving the same outcome (flashing orange on the front, flashing green on the back while plugged in). This is frustrating as my 20GB is currently with apple for having no where near it's '12-hour' battery charge capacity (about 6-hrs right from the start). I might be tempted to think it was my PB but I almost only charge my 20GB through the mains charger.

uh, yeah, there's a sticker attached to the iPod Shuffle when you remove it from the box that says to install the software before plugging it in.. you must remove the sticker to expose the USB port.. maybe not be in such a hurry next time

If you've got noodles in your iPod box, you should probably return it for a refund. :p

Your case sounds like an exceptional one. It's probably a good idea to phone apple sales on 0800 039 1010 and see what's happening (not sure if its a 24hr no)

You're right, right, right

Yes, yes, yes. I was impatient. I wanted the puppy to start charging immediately. I didn't follow the instructions. I was a kid, and I'm far too old to act this way.

Now quit nagging me...we're not married. :p

Seriously, these things are going to spur far more Music Store sales...and they're already on fire (quarter of a billion and counting). I want/need a bigger library for it to choose from, and I will buy more now. Then take me and multiply by thousands, tens of thousands, hundreds of...

Man, Apple knows what it is doing.

Canadian retailers are supposedly getting the Shuffles in stock on Feb. 11, one whole month after Steve proclaims "Available today!". Perhaps he should have added a ps. available today only at the Apple stores.

CANADIAN RELEASE DELAYED!

CANADIAN RELEASE PUSHED BACK TO
MARCH 7, 2005!!!!!

I just checked the Futureshop website (where I preordered mine) and the Best Buy websites. Both have changed their release dates to Mar. 7, 2005.

I ordered my 1GB iPod Shuffle on January 22nd from Futureshop, I was so excitied that it was going to be shipped February 11th. Now they have pushed the release date back to March 7th. Arrrrrrrgggg.

I have to go calm down.

I heard that USA buyers get free itunes vouchers, do buyers in the UK get this or is it just those jammy devils?

The only voucher I had when I started up my 512 for the first time was for a "sampler pack" of songs, that all looked like the free weekly tunes. If that's all it was, you didn't miss much.

Well, mine arrived today in Canada.

Very nice. I was so impressed that I walked down to my local mac reseller to see if they had any (I wanted to get one for my wife, so that she won't steal mine). Unfortunately, no love. They were impressed with mine though.

I didn't have to install any software. It came charged right out of the box and connected at first go and only took about 20 minutes to fill up 1 gig over USB 1.1.

Apple is going to sell bucketloads of these.
