iPod touch iPod Touch 5G Release Date

I hope this is the case (and tend to think it is actually). I pre-ordered w/o engraving on Sept 14th at the same time I ordered the iPhone. As such, I expect to get it the day it the first day it becomes available. As with others, I'll be a little frustrated if its in stores for days before I get it.

As of now, mine status is 'Processing Items'
 
I ordered a PRODUCT RED IPod with an engraving on Sept. 22nd in the U.S. and I also am still processing. I am perfectly fine with other's IPods going to preparing before mine, as long as they all ship out at the same time. I have no idea why they would change only select people's. I sure hope it's not what I think it is.
 
in my case Im going to assume its because I ordered 3 sets of those 30pin to 8 pin adapters

and yea ordered on Sept 14th at 12:45AM 64GB silver

No thats not what I'm saying at all. Im saying ppeople that ordered aftre me have got the notif. that they are preparing for shipment. And I really hope that they dont get theirs first. Yes, it would be fair for the people that ordered first to get theirs first.

i also hope so but it depends on the country you live in, ik also pre-ordered on 14september but since i live in the netherlands it probably arrives a week later than in the US, my status also still processing

I ordered on the 14th of September and mine is still processing too. As far as I can tell the only people that have had their orders moved to "Prepared for shipment" are the people who ordered engraved ones, but that's just so a customer can't revert their order once the backplate has been custom engraved. If the rumors are true the earliest orders should ship out in the next couple of days.
 
tomorrow is going to be interesting....if it is indeed coming out on the 9th, then the orders should be shipped by tomorrow...if it isn't coming out till later say mid-late October, than the orders should be shipping by the end of the week.....interesting day tomorrow (thats all I can say)....

Interesting day indeed. I'll probably be obsessively refreshing my order status page every few minutes! :p
 
Mine just went into "preparing for shipment" status!!! I ordered the 64gb pink touch on 9/14. I'm in the US.

The adapter status is still "processing." I hope it'll arrive the same day as the iPod.

I've got it bad too, I'll click refresh and close my eyes, and when I open them to find that nothing has changed I have a little "aw crap" moment, as if I was expecting it to finally be the time that I got "Preparing for Shipment"... Apple is such a tease sometimes!

Mine just changed to preparing for shipment also. No engraving. Looking like this week.

Oh sweet! Mine has got to be changing soon... Just out of curiosity, what time of day did you order? I know that seems like a weird question, but time of day might have a priority on when orders are processed and I'm trying to figure out when mine might get prepared for shipment. I ordered late morning on the 14th of September. It was probably 10 or 11 here, which would mean it was 8 or 9 o'clock in Cupertino.

I checked the confirmation email. My order was placed at 4:30 p.m. EDT.

Whoo! Getting pumped! I live in New Zealand and didn't pre-order it, but I'm hoping to get it in store whenever it is released!
