I'm in a tossup between a MB and MBP really. I only want to use it for websurfing/uni/music listening/running vista on bootcamp for a few games. I am leaning towards the MB for portability. I'm sure I could buy one now that would suit my needs but I'd rather see what will be available.

Any thoughts on how the pricing will go this time?
Apple has said they will be reducing margins. Apple has also said they are "very comfortable with our pricing." So I wouldn't expect any significant pricing changes with the upcoming update, but I would expect a larger spec bump than what is normally expected for a redesign.

Thanks very much. This is exactly the kind of answer I was hoping for!

It would be nice if the iPodTouch came with the camera of the iPhone.

Doubt it will, but it would make me buy.

All Aluminum line up:

New Aluminum Macbook 13.3" 2.6~2.8 intel core 2 duo 250 gb, 2 gb mem would be pretty amazing. Around the $1200 price point. :D

All I'm saying...Oct 7th

Yeah, that WOULD be pretty amazing, which would also mean the MacBook Pro would need to come down to about $1599-1799 accordingly. No way are you getting those kinds of features in a $1200 machine while similar components are in a $2000+ range.

How poop would the current MBP look at "starting from $1999" if MB had specs like you listed?!
