Hey do you happen to have a very reliable site that also says this? I'm not so sure I trust it. Although it would be amazing to have it shipped by the 9th or 10th, its highly unlikely. Apple still has not released a date as of 1:00 AM EST 10-7-12 and those dates are just a couple days away. You would think that they would at least tell you that you are about to be sent to. Also, I and many others, have not been changed from "processing" to "preparing to ship" and they probably wont change the orders twice in 3 days. I really hope those days are correct because I would LOVE to have it in my hands by the 13th. My theory (which is probably HORRIBLY wrong) for why they haven't given a date is that they may not know. With preorders multiplying each day, they have to seriously think about when they can ship all of these out. Again thats probably wrong and maybe they just like watching us struggle. It may also be a good buisness strategy with all these people talking about it. Who knows? Oh well, I just really want this thing.


Oh and here is my specs(?):

32GB PRODUCT RED ordered Sept. 22nd from U.S. online store
STILL processing as of 1:10 AM EST...

My 32 GB non-engraved White & Silver iPod Touch that I pre-ordered on September 14th just went into the "Preparing for Shipment" stage.
 
My bet : this friday , because the iphone 5 was shipped on friday !! Anyone agree ?
 
Black/Slate 32GB no engraving pre-ordered on Sept 14th just went to preparing for shipment. New iPod Touch this week folks!

I wouldn't completely count out today as a possibility. There is still plenty of today left for it to head out. In addition to there being plenty of daytime left, I'm pretty sure the shipping industry runs around the clock. It could ship in the middle of the night :)

Yes if they are preparing to ship now that would indicate a Friday release date. I'm thinking they will be in Best Buy on Friday or Sat, we shall see.
I'm planning on getting a 32GB one and then waiting a bit on the mini especially if a 3G version is not available. I don't expect the Touch demand to be overwhelming but the mini will be.

Maybe it's sitting because (as far as US banks are concerned) it's a holiday weekend? I have several pending transactions that haven't cleared, including the touch.

I think time zones do matter a little. It's about 13 hours difference from my time zone to China, so while I'm watching the Apple status page all day long, it's actually the middle of the night in China. FedEx is probably not picking things up then.

Most of the time when I'm waiting for something to ship out of China, it won't start moving until the middle of the night my time, which is morning/early afternoon in China.

I'm hoping my iPod will ship out sometime overnight tonight. :)
 
Man, I sure hope the ones that ordered past the first day of preordering get theirs shipped with the ones that did. I ordered the 22nd and I have a feeling I wont be getting it for a while... :(

Is anyone able to talk Japanese? On the japanese store site of the new iPod touch the release date is mentioned as something with a 10. Can anyone translate what's standing there?
