iPod touch Ipod Touch Camera!

Apple won't (and shouldn't) put a camera on the Touch because they don't have to. They sell plenty without a camera. Some third-party manufacturer may make one for the dock connector, as with 13 million Touch sold they could probably make a few million bucks selling them.
Apple isn't in the camera business, and continually proves itself not-so-good at new technology it doesn't have experience with. It's taken the iPhone two years to finally get features most other smartphones already have, for example. The iPhone's camera is crappy, and anything they would stick on a Touch would be the same.
You have an ipod touch. Not an iphone. So I'll assume you have a cell phone. Almost every cell phone has a camera. So why do you want one on your ipod? If you wish to put the pic on the ipod simply email it to yourself using txt and then download on ipod. Simple.
obviously it would have been great if apple would included a camera and a mic in the ipod, however I dont think is a big deal if else. People that have ipod still have to carry their cell phone (since ipod does not work as cell phones) and most of them have camera. And if for some reason you carry a bagpack (or you are a woman and carry a purse) then is not big deal to carry a real camera with decent quality, flash and optic lens. Again it would be great if apple would put a camera/mic on their ipod but once you have to carry an external accessory (for the ipod dock port), even if it is extremely small (which I doubt it would be because it had to have the camera, probably the mic, circuitry to communicate with ipod, the doc connector and plastic protection) is not a big deal to carry an small point and shoot camera or is it??

i recon a camera on thw iPod Touch would make apple a lot more money than they are making and the fact that a camera on a iPod seems amazing really. I own and iPod Touch and i am desperate to have a camera on it! It would make me spend that extra $50 on a iPod Touch.

Why would carrying an phone, camera, and iPod make someone a retard? Can the iPhone's photo quality match a Canon Rebel XS SLR? I think not. There are perfectly good reasons for having separate devices.
why on earth do u need a laser pointer on an ipod touch LOL !! they are getting a Camera on the ipod touch 3G, iPod Nano and probably the ipod classic. I can guarantee you that and it will also have video recording because it has a microphone hole right beside the camera on the case.

Best Buy Canada put 3 cases up for the 3rd generation touch that have a camera hole. They are being released October 14th. Which means apple will release new ipod touches around that time with cameras! . That doesn't mean that there will be new iPod Touches coming out around the time. But that means there's a slight possibility of new Touches to come out around that time, although personally, I doubt that.

They just released the ipod touch 3rd gen in 32gb and 64gb with a microphone. They will not add a camera feature because that could jeopardize the sales of iphones.

No Microphone here. :\ I bought the newest 32GB iPod Touch but it doesn't have a built in one.
18 months? the last post was September 12th, 09, so its less than 3 months.
The thread might have been made 18 months ago, but it has been revived many times since then.
For a lot of people, there is no chance of that ever happening given the fact that you need to sign insane contracts with wireless carriers.

i totally agree. what needs to happen is apple needs to switch carriers from at&t to verizon, which has WAY more people on it's network. It would piss a lot of current iphone users off, but hey, it will make a lot MORE people happy. then all these people who want their precious cameras on their ipod could just buy an iphone and sell their old ipod on craigslist or amazon to someone who will actually appreciate the value of an ipod.
