I just noticed that at least in the Finnish store, the shipping-date has been changed from "by 28th of september" to "in 7 - 10 days"
 
Went to the Western computer store in cheltenham today (certified reseller) and they told me they had 62 people in the order queue, and were only expecting 5 touches in a week:eek::eek:

Not strictly iPod Touch related - but do any of the UK Apple Stores (preferably Birmingham/Meadow Hall) have iPhones that you can play with? I know they did in the Regent Street one but that may have been just for the launch event.

There's an advert in the free London Metro newspaper this morning for the iPod Touch at PC World:

Just got back from Lakeside (Essex) PC World with my nice new 16GB Touch. They had 12 come in today so i made sure i was sitting there waiting for them. Its a week 37 with corinne bailey rae on the front.

I saw that too, kind of ironic that there is a PC World on Trojan Way dont you think? :D

How is your screen? I am eager to know that.
 
I read the same thing in the paper thats y i went down there so fast and hung about till the delivey. And the screen looks fine, iv just done the video iphone/touch test and it looka great. so fingers crossed .
 
Guys just to let you know, I've ordered an 8GB from Argos' online store right now, and it's being delivered for free on monday (2 days). Seems that they have them in stock and you can get them pretty fast!

The new store in the Touchwood Centre, Solihull had no iPhones on display at last Saturdays launch. A couple of the senior staff were flashing their own iPhones around before the store opened, bloody poseurs :p

I don't believe it! My status changed just hours after my post! "In transit to customer"! Customer, thats me! :)
I didn't think they'd do anything on a Saturday.

Me 2 i've just ordered the 8gb from argos now and its due for delivary on tuesday so yer 2 days whoop! :)
 
For all those Brits that are gagging for it I can say I went to the Regent St. store yesterday and there were a fair few people round the iPod Touch table! Played with it and yes it seems awesome. Good luck waiting a whole day or two!
 
Ok, I ordered on the 20th on the apple onlinestore, had a "prepared for shippment" since tuesday, and just some minutes ago my iPod touch finally shipped (heading for switzerland) - just waiting for TNT to register the tracking number :)

Apple sais it should arrive on the 5th.

EDIT: hm. interesting fact:

My serial number starts with 1A737
 
My order from the Spain Apple Store changed to "Prepared for Shipment" last Tuesday with with "shipping by Sept. 28". I received an e-mail from the Apple Store just now saying it had been impossible for them to ship by the 28th and that the new ship date will be Oct. 3rd. El Corte Ingles (the largest department store here) doesn't have an availability date until Nov. 20.

Hey guys got my iPod from Cancom in Cambridge. All thanks to my mum ranting at the manager who is a really nice guy! I can honestly tell you that it is the best device I have ever played with and well worth the wait. It is the best Internet device ever. So good in fact I am typing on it right now. Sorry couldn't resist.
