ThinkSecret provides further details of impending iPod updates -- expected as early as Wednesday, Feb 23rd.

According to the rumor site, the current 4GB iPod Mini will drop to $199, while the 6GB iPod will come in at $249. They also expect two new iPods to arrive at $349 and $449 price points.

The news is consistent with rumors published yesterday by MacShrine who reported on 30GB and 60GB iPod Photo models coming in at $349 and $449... as well, as 4GB Mini's at $199 at 6GB Mini's at $249.

sounds good lets bring them on. I like the color screen idea think it would look much brighter and a fresh look.

if thinksecret is saying it, then this is great news!!!! i was planning on buying an ipod mini for my girlfriend and i's one year anniversary, and i would spend $249, but $199 means i have an extra $50 to spend! hooray! and i can upgrade my aging 3rd gen 15GB (which i will shed a tear when i do replace it) with a ipod photo with twice the storage for only $329 (edu)!!! wow. great news. go apple!

great, i finally made up my mind to get a mini, and now im going to have to choose, i can live with 4gigs, thats fine, but if the 6gig comes with a color screen and the other stuff mentioned before then i will have to give it some serious consideration

ack.. too many ipods, if you ask me. i dont think apple will do that mini split because it would just confuse everyone.

I really hope the new 6 gig mini has at least 10 hours of battery life. Right now the mini has the worst battery life of Apple's whole line.

And I'm really glad I cancelled my iPod shuffle order...

Frustrated! ARG.

I just bought an engraved iPod mini for my wife's valentines day present!! Talk about bad timing! *sobs*

Anyway. Now I want to die.

I'm just practicing and I can't access my account on the apple store from safari. Works fine in camino, anyone else with this problem?

Warm up your CMD-R buttons and your credit cards, folks.

Heh, how true. Although in my case it's Ctrl+R ;)

What time do people reckon we'll be seeing them? 9AM EST? I hope so, that way I'll be able to order it immediately :D

Finally, Price cuts (hopefully) on the iPod Photo.

How many people here would spend $500-$600 on an MP3 player, and for me with my expeirences with iPod I definatly would not buy one of those at that price
(scratching...hd failer....apple replacing.... scratching.... scratching.... scratching... battery breaks- burns up.....apple replaces.....messed up LCD....scratching....scratching....)

For $500 you can buy a whole computer (mini)

these price drops will basically put an iPod at every $50 price point

100, 150, 200, 150, etc

good job apple!

If they introduce a 350.00 iPod Photo, I'm in. My partner will kill me, but oh well.
