Heh, how true. Although in my case it's Ctrl+R ;)

What time do people reckon we'll be seeing them? 9AM EST? I hope so, that way I'll be able to order it immediately :D

Ctrl+R? You must not be dying to get one then because if you were, you'd use F5 instead...

I don't know why, I see this iPod becoming the start of the downfall. First, the 20 Gb iPod is only lasting intill supplies dry which makes the new iPod at $350. Apple drops 10 GB of storage on existing 40 Gb iPod photo and makes it 30 GB. While they remain perfect for the Mini and flash pricing. I said start of the downfall. But, I am hope the downfall doesn't start.

Maybe off subject maybe not

Does anyone know what time the iTMS updates new music on Tuesdays, it has yet to be updated today.

New iPod photo at a lower price will get me to update my 3g 20 gig, looking forward to Wednesday.

(Nevermind, it was updated while I was posting, WTF)

:( So no 40GB any more?

Dammit.

Currently my iTunes library stands at 20.47GB. I was hoping I could get a 40GB iPod, as that would give me room to expand. With 30GB (Which is in reality only around 27GB) I'm gonna outgrow that much too soon.

If it sounds too good to be true, it probably is.

Macs for $499?

Flash iPods for $99?

Minis with color screens?

Give me a break. I'll watch the Sci Fi channel if I want that kind of fantasy world.

Yea, this has to be some early April Fools joke. Ipods are suppose to be $500 each and Macs are suppose to be $3,000 without a monitor. I think this is just a dream. What is next? A replacement for AppleWorks?

Yea, when you can't sync the entire library, the larger iPod loses some of it's appeal. My next iPod will be the 60 GB model. My 10 GB iPod is sort of a over grown Mini right now. It doesn't have the same appeal when I can't sync all my music.

Yeah, I went to the local Apple Store last night to buy one of these. They were out of stock and when I asked when they would be in, the clerk told me he beleived they were discontinued. This makes sense, since I've been trying to find one in stock at Best Buy for over a month with no luck. I just assumed they were trying to force people to opt for the photo iPod.

Yeah, and next thing you know you'll be able to open Word and Excel documents, Play Doom and Halo, and even email people who use PCs.
Besides, I use a PC at work so I should not have to learn an obsolete computer OS anyway. And my new Sony Walkman lets me record on handy cassettes that I can put right in my car stereo.
So Why would I want one of those iPod things, you can't even put a cassette in them, Nobody is gonna buy one of those.

Everyone knows Apple is going out of business anyway.

(Gee, I should get a job @ Best Buy selling computers)

i'm really looking for an iPod in the $217 price point. steve, have you got anything for me there?

C'MON, how many iPods are going to be on the market??!? i can see REPLACING older models w/ newer ones: larger hard drives, updated battery, etc, but we're going to have 2 sized of shuffle, 2 sizes of mini and god knows how many sizes/versions of ipod.

i'm alREADY the "iPod Info Desk" here at work and oftentimes at Best Buy or whatever store i'm walking through and even at the BMW dealership last week (the guy noticed my Apple sticker on the back of my car & asked me which was better, the iPod or "that MP3 player from Apple".....??!?)

i'm going to need a crib sheet to answer peoples' questions now!

4 gig+screen = $200
1 gig no screen = $150

doesn't seem right to me...they better do something about their shuffle prices and/or capacity

are you kidding me? shuffle prices are universally applauded as beating all the competition! we expected the shuffle to come in at 200, anyway...

this is like the initial hatred of the mini, based on the "but you can get this with a full sized ipod..." arguments.

the argument really goes this way: awesome, new, stylish, exclusive, and tiny = nice price. pretty cool, but old, tired, common, and much bigger, albeit with some nice added functionality = 1/3 more $.

Sweet. Any mention of battery life though?
hahahhahahahahahahah. Yeah, I wish for better battery life also. Interestingly, the iPod Shuffle's battery life seems really long. more than I would have expected. I've had it for a month and charged it for about 1 hour total. :)

I don't think the older minis are going to stick around. The ipod store will be wayyy to crowded.
Anybody remember the rumor that Apple was resigning an all new standard ipod that was schedualed to be introduced in the summer like the current click wheel standard model? I think if they update the standard ipods now it would be too soon to update them again in the summer, ipods are annual.
I believe tomorrow will go like this:
ipod photo- 60gb $499/$399
ipod photo- 30gb $399/$349
ipod- 20gb $299
U2 iPod will drop
ipod mini/photo- 6gb $249
imac update

Credit card ready for 6GB Orange Mini w/ color screen!

I just got $230 for my 3G 10GB iPod on ebay yesterday. I almost feel sorry for the guy that bought it. Almost...
I know how you feel... I got $225 for a broken iPod mini by selling on eBay. If the new iPod mini is only $200, I just might sell my iPod shuffle to an unbeknowing person....heeheehee

Looks like someone ticked Steve off good... It's 4:30 pm EST and no updates... I have a good feeling Apple's just stalling intentionally now. My guess is that we'll see updates in a week or so.

Mac Shrine and Think Secret either had wrong information or they blew it for us. Hooray.

great, i finally made up my mind to get a mini, and now im going to have to choose, i can live with 4gigs, thats fine, but if the 6gig comes with a color screen and the other stuff mentioned before then i will have to give it some serious consideration

I am in the same predicament.I think my next purchase would be a 30 gig iPod photo. Is the 6 gig mini still supposed to have a color screen, no mention in the rumor...

They need to consolidate the iPod and iPod mini line into one. Go for a form factor somewhere in-between the two lines and start capacities off at 6GB to 60GB.

boomf and my dad's buying one if i's £199 for 4gb :D

great news after making a switcher out of him with the new mac mini :D

Or Apple is simply running one day behind this week because of presidents day, so a release on Wednesday is possible. No Fedex on pres.day

People who think Steve Jobs flippantly changes release dates because of articles on rumor sites need to get out into the real world for awhile. The logistics of releasing new models is done to maximize profits and publicity, not to piss off potential customers.

What? Is it Wednesday already?

old rumor

yep, I read about the expected price reduction to $199 last Friday on Bloomberg (for those who have access to a bloomberg system type "AAPL CN go" on you get all news on Apple) which is likely to be past the rumor stage. Oh well , we shall see. A price reduction from Apple is always welcome as it usually does not mean a quality reduction !
