The US was not in any danger from Iran a month ago.
I guess you haven't heard of ballistic missiles... or assassination attempts or plots... or "death to America"... or Iran's allies and who they fund... and on and on.
Also, by this logic, we should only wait until the capabilities are built up to the point where a lot of blood would most certainly be shed in fighting these radical lunatics. It is logic like this that actually makes wars worse than they should be.

Iran was not a threat.

The whole thing is giving Iraq war. Fighting something that doesn't even exist but Israel, the global puppet master convinced Trump to join an attack (I wouldn't even call it a war) that was non of their business to begin with.

Can't believe I need to defend a regime in 2026.

You have liberals in this very thread defending Iran, and yet me calling them allies of Iran was "bullying" somehow? It was an opinion that is quickly turning into a fact.
There is a difference between defending Iran and pointing out this war isn't likely to have a positive outcome.

I think it unlikely to have a long term positive outcome without lots of American boots on the ground. Given Trumps petulance over the fact that no one wants to join his war of choice (he and Rubio think this is some sort of Nato issue) I doubt he is willing to commit the US to an actual regime change war

So the regime is still in place, as many as are being killed airstrikes it is still unlikely that the war will unseat the IRGC and thus they are going to continue to oppress their people... it also seems they are more likely to want a nuclear weapon than before as it is only countries with nukes that don't seem to get invaded or attacked by America/Russia.

Yes let’s get mad at our own leadership rather than the regime that is targeting ships belonging to various non involved third party countries, causing fuel prices to surge. And let’s post this sentiment on a story about a regime threatening corporations rather than military targets. Let’s not focus our anger at pure unhidden, direct in your face terrorism.

Next thing you are going to tell us is that it’s the women’s fault in Iran for getting assaulted because they didn’t wear their face cover. Same exact logic.

I am liberal, but this hijacking of the democratic party by people who are constantly on the side of the worst human rights violating dictators, has got to go. It’s super bizarre to see Americans calling themselves liberals, marching on the streets against real liberals from other countries who are fighting for the families and friends back home to have a chance at freedom. You know darn well something super bizarre is going on and folks are being manipulated, when a literal Nobel Peace Prize winning liberal is battling against American liberals with factory printed signs.

God forbid gas prices are temporarily the same price as they were 4 years ago. God forbid we assist real liberals in Iran who are being slaughtered by the 10s of thousands, simply for speaking up. The real liberals have their lives on the line, they are fighting real oppression. They took to the streets because their regime had them starving with no food and limited water. They would pray to live in existence where their biggest fear was a $1 rise in the price of gasoline for a few months.
I don’t agree with the left that puts no agency on some backward theocratic Islamic state, but that doesn’t excuse Trump, a failure from completely sabotaging any attempt from not being tied to oil markets. We could’ve been further along EVs and my preferred choice of nuclear (or less preferred solar winds). He’s still responsible in the sense that he didn’t foresee and deal with it.

With a transitioned economy away from oil, it would’ve stunted any economic strategy Iran may have. But Trump, in his incompetence, couldn’t even muster that.

Also it’s not my job to deal with Iran and how bad it is. It’s Iran’s job. Or more notably the Iranian population. The Persian nationalists/monarchists who worship the Shah (especially the diasporas) failed to put in the work and just expect everyone else to overthrow their Islamic State.

These prices are a direct result of Trump and his policies/actions. So yes, I will blame US “leadership” vs a sovereign nation that wasn’t a threat to us.
