I really liked this, maybe as much as the first, maybe more.

What I loved about the first film was the build up. It was a really good change of pace from most superhero films.
What I love about the second film is the lack of constant fighting. They run through a lot of story and the action scenes (whilst there wasn't many) had my attention the whole time.

I did think the final fight was over a bit too quick.

I actually liked this film more than the first. I thought Stark's deteriorating health gave the movie a bit more oomph. (Although the make-you-own-element-in-the-basement scene was ridiculous.)

It was good, I read a review of the Stark v Hammer deal being mirrored on Jobs v Gates. Complete bs I thought, but it's there.

The whole make your own element is exagerated but possible. I never filly understood the whole concept behind why.

Saw it tonight. Overall it was a good movie. There was really nothing in it that made me think "wow this is awesome!", but overall it was enjoyable. Way better superhero follow up than Spiderman 2.

Hats off to the guy who played Hammer as well, he did a great job playing one of those just infuriating characters. It kind of reminded of Dalorice Umbridge from the Harry Potter Films. Every time they talk it just makes me angry. Really good job.

I agree, not as good as the first one but just as fun. My only nit pick would be there was a "too much" of that when we fist see Wiplash in action in Monaco. I didn't like seeing the two or three cars explode behind him. It was too much. That is really my only gripe of the movie.

I really liked the first and second. Although i do agree that the battle with Whip Lash at the end was too short. And just a side thought. Why would he set a timer on the bombs and not just set them to explode instantly. Guess that would be too hard for tony.

Can't wait for all these marvel comic tie-ins to join in one movie!!!

I want them to make a shortish movie of iron man going around just doin his thing, like beating up people who have no chance against him like in Iron Man (1) when he goes to that village and rescues the civillians, captures the terrorist and blows up the weapons. More of that please.

Good catch DMR!

I never saw Iron Man. Sounds like I need to rent it. Can you see Iron Man 2 before Iron Man (in other words, it's not a continuing story or anything, right)?

You could go see the new one, but I would still see the first one before the second.

I thought it was great entertainment. I think Downey did a wonderful job, as always and I found the story elements well balanced. Mickey Rourke again managed to impress me with his acting. All in all, it was a wonderful movie to watch after a long week of work. It's definitely on my purchase list.
I know I will get stoned for this comment, but I thought it was a ton better than Avatar which I hated. I saw it on a plane trip to Europe and was glad I didn't pay for it. I don't care how great the visual effects would have been in a 3D cinema, the story bored me to tears.
Cheers,

Ahmed

I won't stone you. Avatar was really weak in the story department.

For anyone claiming Iron Man was a bit ridiculous in some scenes, may I remind you it's about a full body armour suit that can flay and pulsate energy... I'm pretty sure IM is lodged deep in the fictional world.

Aside from that, I thought it was a pretty good film, filled with the good old overdose of 'awesome' all the way through which got a bit nauseating, but I didn't watch it to learn anything, just to kill time.

Anyone else think the final fight was way WAY too short, the 2 protagonists got hit once or twice, got caught up in that whip thing, fired, and won. I almost blinked and missed it....

Not only that, but it's based on a comic book!

I do like Tony Stark's arrogance and boozing. Stan Lee is a great creator and it would be boring if every super hero were Superman

Most (if not all) of Marvel's characters do seem really human (albeit the super part) and that's the best part I feel.

I would have liked to have seen more of Rourke and less of Hammer. I'm also still puzzled as to why they replaced Howard with Cheadle. My opinion is basically that of everyone else; first is better than second. However, I don't hold the first in nearly as high of regard as most seem to.

Just finished Iron Man 2......

And noticed in the scene with DJ AM he had a sick iron man sticker on his mac where the eyes light up. Couldnt find it anywhere online so im coming here. Anybody know where i can get it. thankss

It had to do with contract disagreements or something along those lines.
