I can't decide about Spider-Man, but Batman Begins is still the best of the bunch for me. Loved Iron Man, but not that much.

I'd have to agree with the above post - Batman Begins was just PHENOMENAL.

I can't wait till July 18th - The Dark Knight is going to be awesome!

Oh really? I didn't like Batman Begins so much. To me, it was rather overrated. I sure hope Iron Man is better than Batman Begins.

Unfortunately, that stuff never usually works. Doom and Iron Man would be TOAST.

That's fan-fic type stuff. I was talking cannon. They actually did go up against each other. Iron Man learned his lesson after their first meet up. Reverse polarity or something, then nonmagnetic metal. Doom actually beat Mags. There might have been mystical stuff involved, but neither is "magnetic" anymore.

I enjoyed the movie, but I was a little disappointed.

Every told me how good it was; they raved about it. My expectations were pretty high. As a result, I left a little disappointed.

However, if I had just gone without any anticipation, it would have been better. But still worth the $9.50 I paid.

Heh, now I want to see it after your guys' praise (well, mostly). Not to mention Dark Knight!

Agh. You're right. Apparently my Mighty Marvel membership needs to be revoked. :) All I know is that Iron Man and Doom has good juicy history (Doom definitely makes the rounds). It would have been nice though if they'd gone through with marking Doc Ock's tentacles in Spider-man 2 as "Stark Technologies". FF and Spidey will probably remain outside of the coming Avenger's storm though.

Go see it!

Im glad im not the only one who had reservations about this film. I have never read any of the comics before so the concept was completely new to me. To be honest, i thought it would going to be another superman but i was completely blown away. I enjoyed iron man from start to finish and would highly recommend people go and see it.

However, not sure if i was the only one who noticed, but i was a little taken aback after seeing all of the amazing technology he had throughout the film, for pepper potts to be using a DELL monitor near the end. Could they not have spent a little extra and gone with an apple cinema display???

They seemed to have a number of Dell AND Apple displays throughout the film - I'm sure Stark's set-up was two ACD's and a Dell...

I expect more, but got less.
I was definitely bored by the last 30 minutes.
Some sub-par acting, and some sub-par writing.
Predictable plot.
Great CGI.
Pretty good action.

Worth a matinee, but nothing more.

A couple things I learned from this movie:

J-boy Favreau was probably a nerd as a kid.
Bobby Downey Jr is back.
Gwynie Paltrow has great legs and makes a great redhead.
The Dude looks very weird as a baldy.
Terry Howard sounds kinda swish.

EDIT: I kept waiting for Nick Fury to appear once SHIELD was mentioned, but must have missed it?

I've just seen it and it's AWESOME. Robert Downey Jr is perfect. Great action, superb effects and the dialogue is cracking.

It's definitely in the top three superhero movies of all time.

Anyone else out there seen it yet?

Do you plan on seeing Iron Man?

Oh.. and as a bonus there is a new (and way better) theatrical trailer for Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of the Crystal Skull, plus a new trailer for the new Will Smith alcoholic superhero film, Hancock.

I can't wait to see it! Hopefully, I'll get to see it this weekend.

Dr. Doom never, ever loses. Heck, he never even goes into a fight- it's always a hologram or a robotic duplicate. So even if he loses, he never actually gets captured or even punched.

He rules his own country and has ridiculously high tech military, magic, and even his own personal time machine. He once took over Earth and gave it back because he was bored.

Dr. Doom > Magneto.

And the movie version of Doom is a poser.

Not only that, but I found some crazy coot who'd uploaded the entire movie to YouTube. I'm surprised Google hasn't kept on top of this kind of craziness. See, here's the link:

Would've been funnier if it was a rickroll. :D

I was counting.

Stark's setup was Apple. The military was all Dells. Obadiah Stane had either a Mac with an odd skin hooked up to a Dell monitor or some odd Linux distro on a Dell monitor.

Everything was Dell and Apple.

In a typical movie fashion, the good guy had a Mac (Iron Man) and the bad guy had a Dell (Iron Monger). :)
