Since I've started to use Spotify, I've managed to take a lot of music off my phone, so I have about 10GB free of my 32GB phone.

I'd still go for 32, as 16 is too small, but I'm not using as much as I though I was.

Nope. I have a 32gb iPhone and currently I'm using 17-18gb. I could probably make do with 16gb if I kept an eye on the space and cleared out content regularly, but I'd rather have the convenience of extra space and not worry about it.

Since I have an iPad, I do most of my multimedia and apps and gaming on that, so for my iPhone i USE it for calls and the odd occasioning emailing and of course jailbreaking and using it for scheduling meetings with the calendar app. So 16 gig on the iPhone is plenty for me. I disabled the camera on the iPhone, so there is no photos on it whatsoever. :)

Not a chance. I'm such a data hoarder and I'm finding myself needing more and more space. I've had 32GB iPhones with every iteration and with the emergence of iTunes Match to remove the physical presence of music on phone, I was pretty good on space. But, since I can't bring myself to delete old texts (>4GB of Message data) and my growing Camera Roll (>12GB) - I'm close to running out of space on my 32GB. In fact, I'm usually <500MB and I'm constantly having to delete videos, photos, apps just to get space. And I'm so glad that iTunes Match streams now, so I don't have any music downloaded on my phone to take up space.

Cannot wait for the iPhone 6 so that I can get more space!

I often switch songs and don't have the need to have everything in my pocket.

Are you saying you don't need thousands of songs all at once? what if you happen to need to listen to days and days of songs! Or even worse, you don't play games on your phone??! How old are you, like more than 13? Get some games going already.

Not to mention movies. I use to hold an entire movie collection on my phone. I thoroughly enjoy the experience of any movies on my 4 inches screen, something I suggest to everybody.

Whilst they may introduce a bigger version i cant see them starting at 32Gb. They introduced an 8Gb 5C so not sure all of a sudden the 16Gb phone will get dumped.

nope. jumping from 16 to 64 this september when i upgrade.

The 64GB is such a massive additional outlay over the 16GB that I can't justify anything more than 32GB. It just pushes an already expensive device into MacBook/expensive laptop territory and with the advent of Cloud storage space and transferring to computers being sooo easy, I just don't think it's worth it. Maybe if we kept these devices for four or five years, but most people upgrade after 24 months. The Apple memory issue is a continuing rip-off.

Well 32 isn't enough on my iPad or iPod, so I'm getting even more... Especially since my phone is my main device...

No way, 64gb all the way for us.

One big reason is I use my iPhone 5s as my main camera when I travel internationally, which can be 3 or 4 times a year. In those two weeks I'm gone, I can rack up 2 or 3 thousand pictures easily and don't want to be bothered pulling them off my phone constantly. They actually upload to my home computer while I'm gone and are save, but the OCD in me likes to hook up my iPhone when I get back and see that they have all been imported already to be sure.

The other reason is we do keep a good amount of music on the phones, but not more than a couple gigs. We go up in the mountains a lot out of cell range and need music saved offline.

Plus like others have said, I like to have stuff on the phone without needing to worry about managing space all the time. And with data limits, I don't like to rely on streaming all my media to get at it.

My iPhone is within a gig or two of being full all the time. And my 128gb iPad is never more than 10gigs free, usually less.

iPODs are different, 128GB isn't enough on one of those. I don't see why people need to waste money on 64GB iPhones, especially when they have an iPad and an iPod anyway buy hey, it's your money.

Nope. I never purge my camera roll and have a few beefy apps for school/studying that eat up a good bit of space.

I'll probably stick to 32 GB on my next upgrade. The one after that might wind up being a 64 though.

I have well over 15GB of music up in Google Play. None of it on my iPhone. I just stream it using the Google Play app.

If I could do that with video the videos I have on my iPhone would be gone.

If's infrequent for me, but there are times where I'm waiting for my wife to pick me up and all I have is my phone. So, I have videos on my phone for those times. But again, if there was a free service where I could have my videos stored and stream them to my iPhone I'd do that.

For the rest, I'm like you. Box, 50GB, Dropbox, 6.6 GB, OneDrive 30GB, Google Drive 25+GB and so on. Do I need 64GB in an iPhone? No. But I wanted it, so I got it.

Is having music on the cloud limiting? Is there slow down or even issues playing music from the cloud? Always wondered! :)

I have to be honest and say yes.

But allow me to explain. My limitation is solely due to the networks I'm on and not because of any restrictions imposed by Google Play.

I'm on Sprint. They are about 47% done with their LTE rollout in Phoenix, AZ where I live. So, in general, I can drive around town and stream music without a care. But if I encounter areas where towers are overloaded or there is limited coverage then I get problems.

Likewise, the internet connection at work sucks. It's early 2000 era DSL and we have like 5 or 6 people using the WiFi at the same time the router also handles 15 or so computers and the actual DSL line handles the digital phones. So streaming can be…not smooth a lot of times. At home on my own internet connection it's a non-issue.

If your provider imposes data limitations or caps that may be one issue to deal with. But in my case, if the network is good and there is no congestion then there are no problems at all.

Who uses Dropbox to host all their photos
I do. Periodically, I will move them off, usually into iPhoto, but for the most part that's where mine go. Makes it easy to post screenshots or photos from my computer once I've taken them with my iPhone.

I have the 32GB 5s and my wife has the 32GB 5 and we are pushing the limits of them. I made the mistake of buying a 16GB Retina iPad mini. I really with I had gotten the 32 or 64 instead. When the new iPads are released, this one will be passed down to the wife and child and I'll be getting a 64GB.

16GB is not enough. I have ~70GB of music so until a 128GB iphone comes out I'll keep on using the iPod classic.

I'll definitely buy the model with the lowest possible memory.

I simply can't justify the price for such a silly upgrade. The iPhone is solely for communication (texting, calling, e-mail), news ( rss [ reeder's one good App ], internet sites etc. ) and for occasional music ( mostly Spotify or youtube playlists).

I use my iPad for other media, for example videos, intensive web browsing, etc.

I do not take many photos, but when I do, they get immediately uploaded to my dropbox. It not only syncs them with all my devices, I can additionally access them from anywhere.

like i said. my iPhone is my main device. and since i'll be starting college in less than 2 years, i may not have money to but the iPhone 7 or whatever it's called, so i might have to use my 6 for a while.

Good lord that's a lot of music

Is it all lossless?

Nope, 320 or V0 is good enough for my ears. 70GB of mp3 is nothing...that's like 180 artists(full discographies) for me. One of my friends has 130GB of mp3 and the other has like 700GB of mp3....

My personal view is this, if you are a content hoarder.. It does not matter how large a device carries in memory, you will always seek to fill it. Apple could bring out a 250gb iPhone and content hoarders will still say it's not enough.

Over the years my last two iPhones have been 16gb and honestly they've been fine, just needing the occasional memory management but that's partly because I use my phone as a phone and my 32gb iPad 3 for my main entertainment use, which is mainly games.

My phone memory is taken up mostly by photos/videos and of late I have a lot of friends and family sharing loads of pictures and stuff via whatsapp, if your like me and have it set to save all media to your photo album, you will know that too can also hog your memory! Mostly all my music is streamed by soundcloud and tunein. I probably have like 3 albums stored on my phone but about 30gb worth, possibly more on my mac.

With the iPhone 6, I probably will jump up to 32gb this year though, only because I feel the bigger screen will warrant it. Plus go for 64gb in a new iPad Air, because I'm realising games are getting much more graphically intensive which equals larger size apps.
