I had a 32gb iphone 5 but when i went to get a 5s, only 16gb were available so i had to thin down on music and photos and occasionally i am hitting capacity, planning on getting 32gb for the iPhone 6.

Nope, 320 or V0 is good enough for my ears. 70GB of mp3 is nothing...that's like 180 artists(full discographies) for me. One of my friends has 130GB of mp3 and the other has like 700GB of mp3....
That's alot of pirated music....

Plenty for me. I've always had 16gb phones and never once ran into a space issue.

I have about 1gb of songs, only keep two videos on the phone and 1.5g of photos (and that's including all the photos I've ever taken on any iPhone I've owned right back to the 3gs and some I put on from even older phones).

I have about 5gb left.

I can't imagine filling up a 64gb phone.

For me it all depends on what type of data plan you have. I currently have a 32gig because I would most likely burn through my 2 gig data plan streaming music. If I had a larger data plan, then 16 would be fine.

All of my iDevices are 8 gig and even that is plenty for me. It really depends on what type of user you are.

I have at the moment only two App Store apps (one game and one other, however I had far more at a time with still room), 66 songs, and about 1.5k photos and I don't even come close to filling it with still 6.6gb free.

Then again I'm currently on OS3 so that would probably make a difference (less features and apps).

I could get by with 16. I have a 32 now with ~100 songs and 1500 photos (that's 10 years with for me). 64 apps, none of which are large games. I still have 18gigs left. Without videos and songs, 16 is fine for most. I don't get the picture thing. I know people who have literally 10,000 photos or more. To each their own, but do you really need that many photos? Ps-I also back up with dropbox so technically I could delete all the photos from my phone as well.

I currently have the 16 GB model iPhone 5S. Previously I had the 32 GB model 5.

While I can get by with 16 GB, I have to shuffle things around on occasion to free up space. As with today I had to delete some things just to be able to install the latest beta of iOS 8.

I think 32 GB is the sweet spot for me when comparing prices and storage.

16 gbs is pathetic and should be outlawed on the planet earth :) 64gbs for me. And in the most remote chance apple releases a 128gb iphone..I will buy 2 !

Well I am running out of space on my 64 gb iPhone. 40% apps 50% music 10% pictures. I need more storage.

No.

I've been getting 32GB models for the past two iPhones. Thought about getting the 64GB but iTunes Match and Dropbox have eliminated my need for that much storage. So I'll continue to buy the 32GB models.

+1 i find 16GB not enough and 64GB a little too much for mine needs so 32GB is perfect for me

Too many space-hogging apps

16 GB would be enough for me, if not for the ridiculous amounts of space that some apps gobble up. And it's not just the size of the app, but the cache build up that accumulates over time.

Many of these apps do not allow you to clear the cache unless you either delete the app (and lose your data) or do a factory reset and restore from backup. When apps like Facebook balloon to 700+MB or Angry Birds reach 400+MB or Vegas Slots take up 900+MB, then there's no way I can use them on a 16 GB iPhone unless I regularly delete the app or do a complete reset and restore.

And these caches don't accumulate just in the apps either, iOS will also sit on a huge amount of crud that won't go away until you reset and restore the phone. The infamous "Other" category includes caches as well as stuff like botched downloads that won't go away on their own.

Glad I have 32 GB. Even with all my music played from iTunes Match or streaming apps, 16 GB would not be enough because of all the space that gets wasted.

Not for me, music is 6gb alone, photos exceed a gb at times and apps apparently are between 4 and 5gb..

My phone states 14.2 used 13 available so just over the point whereby I would be frantically deleting stuff on a 16 gb model!

16GB of memory isn't enough, and neither is 5GB of iCloud storage. The minimums should be bumped up. iCloud storage space should be at least 7GB and the lowest iPhone memory should be 32GB. I know we can increase both of these by paying for it, but the free 5GB iCloud space is especially puny.

16gb hasn't been enough for two years. The problem is that photos and videos continue to get bigger and bigger. iCloud Photos will hopefully help tremendously with that.

Yeah. With a 3 or even 5MP camera, the 16GB storage perhaps wasn't an issue for most folk. Ramp the cameras up and throw in HD video, then these paltry storage amounts just aren't cutting it anymore.

16 GB is atrocious. I haven't even put any music or videos on my 32 GB iPhone and it's almost halfway full just from apps.

I had a 64GB iPhone and barely had anything left.

I travel out of the country a few times and can't really stream because it would be WAY too expensive. Plus I take lots of photos and videos with my phone. So it fills up quick. Usually have one or two movies loaded on it when I travel.

I think 32GB should be the minimum now days...

Try not having 40 news apps, 25 weather apps, etc. How many apps do you really need? ;)

Ever heard of a game?

Your iPhone has 1GB of memory.
