why there is no news about apple release limited pink iphone6 and plus? in other country the news already come out

With the iPad Air 2 now rumored to be coming with 2 GB RAM, does it more or less confirm that the iPhone 6S next year will have 2 GB RAM as well? Can't wait for the day my Safari tabs stop reloading and apps stop refreshing while switching between tasks.

Yes. Definitely.

Until it becomes a bottleneck, which it clearly is, especially on a device that renders images for cache at a much higher resolution (6 Plus)

Not sure what you talking about!! I have the iPhone 6 and most of the times browsing sites with images (photography is what I do) and not ruining into trouble. It does reload pages same as my Galaxy S5 with 2GB of RAM.

Some people just love specs.

Gee... !!

If it doesn't have 2gb of ram... What could they possibility put in there that would make people buy it? Besides better color options.

RAM isn't about benchmarks good god....
I think you meant "benchmarks aren't about RAM". And I realize benchmarks are used as a measure of performance. But guess what, RAM also comes in different speeds. An entire system is only as good as its weakest element. Having more RAM allows the device to store more information that it doesn't have to reprocess or reload at a later point in time. Performance of RAM can also be broken down into such measures as latency.

And the point wasn't that they are correlated, but that a phone with seemingly weaker specs can beat one with superior specs in real world applications. You might think your Camaro is hot stuff, and laugh at the guy in a Mercedes-Benz E63 station wagon.

The battle for the highest specs is something Apple can not win and they will always be behind. Apple want their customers to focus on the user experience and not on the spec side of their devices (the opposite of what happens on Android platform) Mentioning the ram capacity on the keynote would be against their philosophy.

Think about what you're saying, because it appears to be pure fantasy.

Apple are always quoting things like '2x faster wifi', '2x better graphics' etc in both their keynotes and in their marketing. Quoting '2x more memory' would not be out of the question or against their philosophy.

If you run an activity monitor you can clearly see the device running out of RAM quickly. Light use and less than 100MB free? Bottleneck.

Apple knows it ought to have more RAM. Hence this:
If it doesn't have 2gb of ram... What could they possibility put in there that would make people buy it? Besides better color options.

Planned obselescence.

Yeah man, because the average Joe is going to give a crap (like some nerds do) what RAM capacity does the iPhone have!!

I care about real life usage, and Galaxy S5 with 2GB of ram reloads tabs same as the 1GB of ram on the iPhone.

So the Galaxy S5 is our benchmark now? I thought the whole point to going with Apple was to have a better experience out of the box.

Yeah, planed obsolescence my ass. Keep telling that to yourself. People still using iPhone 4 and happy with it. Guess how much RAM?? only 512MB RAM.

Apple's entire business model relies upon planned obsolescence. The only iPhones that really pushed the envelope were the original iPhone and the iPhone 4. And I suspect the latter was only as revolutionary as it was because Steve Jobs knew he probably wouldn't be around for the next iteration

Apple has to give us a reason to upgrade to the 6S. Remember S upgrades are internal. With the iPhone 7, we'll probably get a shorter iPhone, with a lot less bezel. I wonder what they will do with Touch ID.

Yes, I actually posted that reply from my iPhone 4... yes its age shows on iOS 7 that is no secret. And planned obselescence is a thing... how else can Apple ensure to maximize profits next year? By making sure they can tout as many "new" features in their next iteration as possible, such as 2GB RAM. I don't have to say much else, watch next week when the iPad Air comes along with 2GB RAM and how "amazing" it is. iPhone is no different in that regard.

Even making bigger phones was against their philosophy ... I'm not saying they'll underline the new higher ram capacity, but after Steve Jobs passed away many things have changed in Cupertino (again, I'm not expressing a judgement, just exposing a fact)

Jessus.... is that really hard to understand??

It's not a benchmark, is real life usage that shows tabs reloading regardless of having 2GB of RAM. That is not different from the devices with 1GB of RAM. Trying to prove a point to spec lovers that specs do not matter.

Like this will make any huge difference.. so you can run 10 tabs then, but open one or two other apps and you're back to square one with Safari getting the "Low Memory" warning and purging all pages.

(I just upgraded from a 4S, and while the - to me - new amount of RAM definitely feels nice, the impact on everyday usage is not as big as I'd have thought. I'd rather see Safari getting decent disk-caching for once..)

That video is kind of misleading. Sometimes Chrome appears to reload a page from the web when in fact it is coming from cache. You can verify by putting the device in airplane mode and opening Chrome. If the page is cached it would display with no connection available. If it is not cached, Chrome will display a message informing you that you need an internet connection to see the page.

Right then, I'm quoting you here and I will get back after the keynote next week to eat a crow after Apple's bragging about the 2GB of RAM on the new iPad's.

Otherwise, be prepare to eat a crow yourself ;)

You ruined your otherwise epic youtube account with this video. Lol. I'd suggest using a different account for stuff like that.

And my work 4S is a miserable experience compared to my iPhone 6 directly because of RAM. If I were to switch out of tapatalk typing this and look at something in Safari there is a 99.9999% chance tapatalk would reload.

Here is a video I just made. (I even annotated it lol)

http://youtu.be/1V5_c7ifKyc

That just isn't limited to Tapatalk, every app before it would reload. Tapatalk is the most annoying though because I generally lose what I was typing and always lose my place on a forum.

I don't think I need to make one to show how much better the 6 is. That being said the 6 isn't bad but it will be like the 4S in a couple of years making it a miserable experience. Not saying thats planned obsolescence but having more RAM now, would certainly make it be obsolete as quickly.

None of those benchmarks you're talking about are addressing ram speed anyway, maybe a few do, but that's not what were talking about here. Were talking about memory capacity not speed.

It's not about caring about the actual specs, it's about the device can do with the extra spec bump. Not having to reload tabs would be a major consideration for me to upgrade. If there was any form of multitasking because of the extra spec bump, again, major consideration to upgrade.

Have any companies that do the tear downs ever experimented with replacing RAM with a higher capacity chip and reported results? It sure would solve a lot of questions.
