I wouldn't mind an iphone with a 4 inch display but i don't want some ugly phablet looking iphone.

I do find it kinda arrogant though of people to insist that apple conform to some type of screen size standard in some posts made on this board

My concern is more about battery life and PPI. I don't want either of those things sacrificed.

3.7 might be nice. Even better battery life would be nice.

Bigger is a problem. When I sit down the current iPhone already digs into my hip in some pockets.

I do want it to be a 4" screen. But not if they have to make the body signifigantly bigger. So I think that the size of the phone will stay the same. However I've seen patents for a new charge cable. The smaller USB in the other "leaked"photos could possibly be real or something like it, giving more room for the screen. And maybe if they for something with the front camera and speaker they have more room up there, allowing a 4 inch screen to fit onto the same size phone. If this happens it would make a 4" screen absolutely perfect.

Screen size doesn't really matter at all as long as its iOS. 3.5 is fine. Im sure 4.0 will be too if it ever comes to that.

No size of screen is ever going to take me back to a cheap and flimsy Samsung phone (ex-s2 owner)
